Do not buy this book!,
By
This review is from: The Ghost Hunter's Bible: The Definitive Edition (Paperback)
Seriously read the title. There are more spelling and grammar errors in this book than most netspeak blogs. Also the way the author goes about speaking of the paranormal is laughable. These kinds of people are what is hurting the field of paranormal research. I bought this book and immediately sold it to a book reseller. It was not worth the space it took up on my shelf.

Excellent Ghost Hunting Book!,
By Mary Martin (Kansas, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Ghost Hunter's Bible: The Definitive Edition (Paperback)
I've been interested in ghost hunting for a long time. I have visited a couple local haunted places, but didn't know that much about ghost hunting techniques. I bought several books on the subject including this one, the Ghost Hunter's Bible. I found this book to be a great asset. I have been using it constantly. I have underlined important notes and folded over pages. I couldn't believe all of the great tips that I learned while reading this book. I was honestly blown away by the amount of solid information covered in this one book. The author writes in a very down to earth style that's easy to understand and follow. Out of all the books I've read on the subject I would have to say that I personally find this to be the best ghost-hunting book. The book also came autographed from the author. That was pretty cool.

Shocked by some Negative Reviews,
By Bill Randle (Denver, CO USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Ghost Hunter's Bible: The Definitive Edition (Paperback)
I have owned this book for about 6 months. I am currently part of a small ghost-hunting group. I recommended this book to my group and everyone loved it. I have been conducting real scientific ghost hunts for about 4 years and I found that this book hit the nail on the head almost every time. I have to believe that many of the negative reviews are false because they talk about Witchcraft and Satan none of which is even talked about in the book. There is nothing in this book that bashes occults subjects. The author is very straightforward on the subject: if you are conducting a true scientific ghost hunt do not use psychics, mediums or magic because these are not scientific tools. That is not bashing that is just the truth. If you are a true scientific ghost hunter then this is a good book. If you are a burned out hippy looking for Wicca rituals then this is probably not your book. But seriously, if you are into scientific parapsychology pick up this book.

Interesting book, but flawed by author's prejudices,
By James Schroeder (Cleveland, Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Ghost Hunter's Bible: The Definitive Edition (Paperback)
Interesting book, and filled with some interesting information, but the author has some strong beliefs and prejudices that flaw the book. For one thing, for someone who is writing on a fairly controversial subject to begin with, and evidences a belief in ghosts and the paranormal, he rejects out of hand psychics and mediums, and confuses their use in paranormal investigation with magic and witchcraft. Since the presigious Rhine Institute and the British Society for Psychical Research are investigating mediumship (and E.S.P) scientifically for decades this is a strange attitude for someone presenting themselves as a professional to have. Also, Mr. Brandon seems to be either unaware, or lacks knowledge, of the differences between types of hauntings and methods to get rid of some of them since he expresses the opinion that there is "no way to get rid of a ghost." I'd recommend one of Troy Taylor's books, or Joshua Warren's How To Hunt Ghosts as better, more knowledgeable, and more balanced in presentation.

Dissapointing,
This review is from: The Ghost Hunter's Bible: The Definitive Edition (Paperback)
The book starts off decent, then becomes useless dribble, How a ghost hunter can believe in ghosts and then proceed to say that all spirit communication is the work of satan and evil demons is pure nonsense, discarnate humans show up fo his amusement but only demons show up for Spiritualist seances, pure junk ! he also attacts the occult sciences as means for demon obsession, and claims Witchcraft is the work of the devil, what is this guy doing living in the 13 century ? or just spotting off christian bigotry ? oh, and by the way, going to cemetaries to look for ghosts is like going to candy stores looking for sugar, get real, either ghosts exist or they don't, oh, I also liked the way he sumed up psychics as useless con men. it just proves that any one can write a book and claim to be an expert.need I say more ? don't waste your money.

My hats off - Great Book!,
By James Hanson (Layfayette, IN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Ghost Hunter's Bible: The Definitive Edition (Paperback)
I found this title to be informative and provide a well-rounded balance of parapsychology information. This book is prefect for ghost hunting beginners and professionals. The author cover many aspects of a ghost hunt that I have never seen listed in other books of its type. The book covers witness interviews and details what questions should and should not be asked to an eyewitness. It talks about simple ghost hunting techniques and rolls into a great question and answer section. It has a good parapsychology section (something that I think many ghost hunters are missing) an easy to use reference section and some good stories. Overall, I am very impressed and I look forward to future works from this author.

JUNK JUNK JUNK,
By William Chant (Scranton, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Ghost Hunter's Bible: The Definitive Edition (Paperback)
Just look at the cover and you know what you're getting into. The author of this book is probably a bigger horror film fan than ghost hunter. You don't go writing a book about ghost hunter guessing your way though the facts and then even worse.... giving your opinions instead of facts. This is by far not an exact science and it should not be treated as one especially if your as opinionated as this wanna be who wrote this book.
Burn it!

Ghost Hunting at it's Best!,
By Cindy Sherman (Hershey, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Ghost Hunter's Bible: The Definitive Edition (Paperback)
The Ghost Hunter's Bible is a great book! My daughter bought it for me as a gift. I've been telling her for months that I think our house is haunted but I did not know what to do about it. This book was everything to me at a very hard time! The ghost experience and this book have helped changed my life for the better. I would definitely recommend this book to anything looking for ghost hunting info. It was easy to read and it is filled with endless facts on ghosts. If the author ever reads this page then I just wanted to tell you, thanks a million!

i expected more from a book called the "definitive edition." the book contains a small amount of useful information regarding useful ghost hunting techniques but the majority of information in the book is essentially useless. i would advise serious ghost hunters to not purchase this book.
