4.0 out of 5 stars Ghost Hunting in Mother Lode Country, July 16, 2007
Whether you are interested in rediscovery abandoned towns in central California or looking to contact ghosts in these ghost towns, Ghost Hunting in Mother Lode Country is definitely the book for you. Written in a friendly conversational style mixing good natured humour and historical fact, this book is both entertaining and full of useful information for any ghost hunter.

In the introduction of this book, the author states that ghost towning, individuals searching for abandoned frontier towns and residences, is gaining popularity. Many of these hunters seek merely for the adventure of finding remnants of the past, akin to amateur archaeologists. Other hunters are looking to experience the supernatural and get up and close to a ghost. Ghost Hunting in Mother Lode Country seeks to guide both sets of ghost hunters to the best potential experiences by including historical information with points of interest, extra pursuits, spiritual advice, and haunt hazards.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Review of Ghost Hunting in Mother Lode Country, February 22, 2006
By Ervin E. Harmon (Tarpon Springs,Fl USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
"Ghost Hunting in Mother Lode Country" by Hilber H. Graf is an outstanding book from the beginning to the end. Hilber H. Graf has a unique writing style. I found myself periodically saying " wow this is a great read." I was not surprised as I have read one of this authors other books, "Visiting Haunted Southern California", which is also a great book.

"Ghost Hunting in Mother Lode Country", is about the Gold Rush days in the Mother Lode area and the ghost towns that have existed since that time, plus a whole lot more. I especially enjoyed reading about the many Gold Rush and Ghost stories such as, chasing the elusive stagecoach bandit Black Bart, and exploring Sacramento's haunted underground city to mention a few.

Hilber H. Graf has written a total of four books. "Evil Never Dies", and "Threshold of Darkness", "Visiting Haunted Southern California", and his latest "Ghost Hunting in Mother Lode Country".

I enjoyed "Ghost Hunting in Mother Lode Country" very much and recommend this book as a great book to read. This book gives a great history of the Gold Rush days and Ghost Hunting in the Mother Lode area, with driving directions to these locations. An outstanding book by a great author.
