The Ghost and Mrs. Hobbs is a very appealing book. It's a sequel to the book, The Ghost of Fossil Glen. This book is about a girl named Allie. She faced her first ghost at Fossil Glen, a spirit of a murdered eleven-year-old girl named Lucy Stiles. Now, another ghost has entered Allie's life. The ghost tells and forces Allie in the direction of Mrs. Hobbs, the daunting cafeteria lady. Allie thinks Mrs. Hobbs has something to do with the death of this ghost. Her life suddenly becomes complex, and random, mystifying fires breaking out wherever she goes. Allie's best friend is mad at her, and both are jealous of each other. Same thing with her little brother, Mike, and he keeps thinking Allie is lying about Mrs. Hobbs being harmless. He thinks otherwise.
I have various thoughts on this book. I personally thought this book was okay. I mean, it wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. So, it was somewhat in the middle. But, I liked it. I recommend this book if you love a good mystery, or a page turner. This book is also full of suspense. Even if it might seem confusing, it gets easier and easier towards the end. That is what I think of the book, The Ghost and Mrs. Hobbs.

About three weeks before this story begins Allie almost dies on a class fieldtrip to Fossil Glen, while helping a ghost named Lucy Stiles. Now she has a weird dream about a fire, and she senses that maybe another ghost needs her help. That is when weird things began happening. First, Allie's class gets and assignment to interview someone for Elder's Day. While everyone is talking at the lunch table about who they might interview, someone had said they were going to interview Mrs. Hobbs. Everyone was stunned by that announcement, Allie was looking around to see who had said such a thing. Then she realized everyone was looking at her, she was the one who had said it. But who would want to interview her, or even talk to her. Mrs. Hobbs was the lunch lady which everyone was scared of. Everyone in the school knew her as "The Snapping Turtle" of "Old Hobbling Hobbs." After school Allie was walking with her best friend Dub, which is the only person who knows about Allie's encounters with ghosts, that is when Karen Laver and Pam Wright walk up. Like normal Karen puts down Allie about interviewing Mrs. Hobbs, then everyone was waiting for Pam to to say something to add onto what Karen had just said. Instead, Pam told them that she thought it was a pretty cool idea. When When Pam left from walking with Dub and Alliethe started thinking of many theories about what Mrs. Hobbs had to do with Allie's ghost. That night Allie started hearing a voice of a sad man talking to her. Two days later Allie went to interview Mrs. Hobbs, she decided to ask her about her family, which must have upset her because her hands clentched tighter and tighter. Then she looked down at her paper that had a list of things she could ask about. The last thing on her list was ASK ABOUT THE FIRE!!!. But Allie though how couldyou suddenly ask a question like that. But all of a sudden she blurted out "Tell me about the fire." Which reall yupset Mrs. Hobbs because she started walkin toward Allie and screaming at her. Suddenly smoke started rising form a stack of papers, a fire has started in the cafeteria. No one knew how or why the fire had started , although Allie had her theories. Throughout the next few weeks many other weird things happened like when she went to the library to read about fires, and try to find out about one that had Mrs. Hobbs involved in it, the microfilm that she was reading about fires on started to melt. Another thing was Mr. Henry, Aliie's teacher, has asked her to watch his dog Hoover while he went away, but Hoover was acting weird toward Allie by growling and barking at her. ALso, John Walker who we come to find out is Allie's ghost, starts talking to her a lot and does things to make her gain his trust. Which probably wasn't the best thing for her to do, because he would say things about Dub which made Allie think Dub was just really jeleous of him. Dub was kind of though because he knew there was something weird about John Walker. Doing that meant that Allie lost Dubs friendship for awhile. Then things started happening to people close to Allie and people that were trying to help Alliue with her peoject. Then Allie realized that things were weird about John Walker. So she decided to apologize to Dub because she had acted so horrible to him. So hey worked things out. They went over somethings, then they went to Mrs. Hobbs house. I think that everyone should read this book it is AWESOME!! It truly kept me turning pages for hours.

The Ghost and Mrs.Hobbs is a great story for people of all ages. It kept me in suspense right up to the last chapter! I could'nt wait to finish and see how the story turned out! I chose to listen to this book on audio for my english class because I thought that it would be short and I would'nt have to listen to it for that long, I never thought that I would actually like the book, but I did! If I could I would write another paper for it! I really think that you should read this book because I know you'll enjoy it!
