Saw the production recently in London and really enjoyed it. I'm not a fan of musicals made from movies, but this one exceeded my expectations. Caissie Levy is incredible. Her "With You" is just incredibly touching. The production is worth seeing if not for just the tech aspects of how they bring the story to life. (Interesting effects and back drops). Search the title on You tube and you will get a good sense of the show and be able to decide if you would be into the music. Also enjoyed "Suspend my Disbelief". There are a couple of other gems on here as well. Sure hope they keep Cassie for Broadway's debut. Nice to see her originate a role musically. Get the CD, you won't be disappointed.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of the film "Ghost," starring Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze, Ocsar-winner Whoopi Goldberg, and that infamous lump of swirling clay. I liked it okay, but a stage version, however inevitable, just doesn't seem, you know, necessary. So I had some definite trepidation when I gave this recording of the new London musical a listen.

All in all, I was pleased. It sounds exactly how you would expect a musical of "Ghost" to sound--that is to say, an ear-pleasing pop-rock style-- in this case with music and lyrics by Dave Stewart (of the Eurythmics), Glen Ballard, and book and lyrics by Bruce Joel Rubin (who won an Oscar for the film's screenplay). With one exception ("Ball of Wax," a cringe-inducing tap-dance song that is wholly out of place) this is an enjoyable score, with a few songs that reach pretty impressive heights.

The recording benefits greatly from terrific leads, including Caissie Levy in the Moore role as Molly, and Richard Fleeshman as the eponymous Ghost (Molly's murdered boyfriend). Their powerful voices make the recording soar a good chunk of the time, especially in the score's best and most emotional numbers, "Rain/Hold On," and Levy's two pensive ballads, "With You" and " Nothing Stops Another Day." In the Goldberg role of a charlatan psychic with surprising abilities, Sharon D. Clarke (so good on the "We Will Rock You" cast recording) uses her impressive vocal chops to fine effect in "Are You a Believer?" and "I'm Outta Here," which give her sassy character some fun (if predictable) gospel/disco flash.

I saw this show one day after the critics reduced it to dust..the nearly full house cheered and cheered for the entire production..the cast, score and special effects were indeed memorable. The voices are terrific and the music certainly deserved to be heard by more audiences. It is still playing in London after more than 2 years. Go for It!

One of the most classic movies comes to life on stage once in a life time. Both Mrs. Cassie Levy, and Richard Fleeshman as Sam Wheat, and Molly Jensen takes on this wonderful cast CD by storm, and by stardom.

One of the most amazing roles of this movie is Oda Mae Brown originally played by the amazing, and very talented Mrs. Whoopi Goldberg. The young Lady that plays Whoopi Goldberg's role is by far very awesome, and the best singing voice, that you will ever hear on Broadway.

Sharon D. Clarke is already a superstar on this Cast CD

This was one of the worst shows I've ever seen and one of the worst scores. The writers simply don't know how to write a musical, so what you have here is a mishmash of interchangeable songs that don't do much to establish character or propel the plot forward. The love song, for example, could have been pulled from any pop album, except that it isn't very good, and that feeling is representative of the whole score.

I saw the musical stage play in New Orleans, and decided to get the album. I was totally delighted with it, but was disappointed that "Unchained Melody" was not sung or played, other than his spoofing part. At least in the play, you heard the original song played. I'm assuming it was not added to the Broadway album because of copyright laws, but, as a whole, I enjoyed the album and will listen to it again.

I'm probably one of the few persons that saw this musical and enjoyed it. But then I enjoyed the movie as well. We're not talking Sondheim or Rice but there are a couple of nice songs.

The music conveys the feeling of the movie. liberal turns have been taken with the iconic song Unchained Melody.... and that is ok. The CD is worth it just to hear the Sam Wheat character sing in anguish realizing he was betrayed by his best friend.
