5.0 out of 5 stars You have never seen anything like it before. 250mph madness.

This review is from: Ghost Rider: The Final Ride (DVD)
This Swedish madman, the mysterious unidentified Ghost Rider, is supposed to be in his fifties, owns a Mitsubishi dealership, has a professional black racing bike that can top 280km (before tuning) and sets off around Stockholm at unbelievable, dangerous, suicidal, breakneck speeds, weaving traffic with millimetres to spare, while being filmed via POV cameras on his bike and additional crew members filming at the sides of the freeway. It is all very illegal but because the guy has such a fast bike, and is obviously a professional with probably forty years experience, no one, not even the police can catch him, as this DVD clearly demonstrates on a number of occasions. This is the sort of stuff that makes you hair stand on end, knowing full well you do not agree with what you are witnessing and yet can not believe what you are seeing.

In JUMP THE GLOBE crew members set fire to part of the road near a hotel and Ghost Rider jumps it... all with normal day to day traffic going on around him as in the other clips. The UPPSALA RUN is the first big nut race with Ghost Rider tearing through Stockholm at speeds of over 280km, 200mph at least if not 250mph at some parts, and weaving a couple of hundred vehicles to cover 45km in 11 minutes. The CASTLE SIEGE is harmless fun, with Ghost Rider appearing outside of a royal castle in Stockholm with armed guards on duty, and starts doing burnouts around the place leaving a huge smoke trail across the building... under siege. BROSTUGAN features a Stockholm bike show where Ghost Rider does another massive burnout and the cops chase him but he just drives away from them and then passes them by again. In TAUNTING THE LAW Ghost Rider sets out to have a bit of a chase ending with the cops trying to keep up as he does a wheelie down the freeway for a couple of hundred meters, while at the same time getting even further away from them. STOCKHOLM RUN is the big run as Ghost Rider does a full lap of Stockholm at an average speed of about 200km, topping out the 280km speedometer for most of it. BROSTUGAN PART II is a gag on the first one and is very funny when you see what happens at the start, finishing in a bit of drama. The HAYABUSA RIDE is a quick intercity flash ride where GHOST RIDER tops out his bike through city traffic.

Like I said you know full well you do not agree with what you are witnessing and yet can not believe what you are seeing. This is something to collect along with his other two DVDs - Ghost Rider 2: Ghost Rider goes Wild and Ghost Rider 3: Ghost Rider goes crazy in Europe. This DVD, The Final Ride, is actually his first one now. It was made in 2002. The others are 2003 and 2004 respectively and you can only buy them elsewhere online at the moment. Well worth getting as a bit of a rare collectors item.

This DVD is excellent. By far more interesting than all of those stunt motorcycle DVDs out there nowadays (e.g. Urban Assault - which I like but I like this one much better). Do yourself a favor and don't watch the "U.S." version, go through the menu and pick the original Swedish version. Has a much more "human" feel, shows that this guy is not only an awesome rider but has a sense of humor, and basically is head and shoulders above anything else out there in this category.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Motorcycle Videos Ever!!!, September 25, 2004
This review is from: Ghost Rider: The Final Ride (DVD)
This was one of the best motorcycle videos I have ever seen. It has insane 200mph+ riding through traffic, police chases, and stunts. The video is NOT cheap and was filmed very well. You see what the rider sees, very intense! Ghost Rider has to be the best street rider in the world. Flying through heavy traffic at those speeds is extremely difficult and insanely dangerous!! This video is NOT a story about a guy's life or whatever, it is a MOTORCYCLE VIDEO!! Anyone who has seen any kind of motorcycle video knows that you don't get a synopsis of the character; no one cares! The video was just made to show the amazing stunts and extreme riding! If you don't know anything about motorcycles you might not really like it. But if you have a sportbike, you'll LOVE this video!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Edge of the seat excitement, February 6, 2004

This review is from: Ghost Rider: The Final Ride (DVD)
Ghostrider takes streetbike riding to another level, actually a much much faster level, how about 299kph which equals 185mph on the freeways in amongst a lot of traffic,i'm not kidding, you will be amazed at how fast this guy goes and it's not for a few seconds he keeps this up for around 20 mins in one of the segments, with on board cameras to prove how fast he gets up to.
Ghost Rider was filmed in Stockholm Sweden and also features some footage of the daring rider being pursued by the cops, a bonus section called extreme days features stunts and tricks.
If you like your motorcycle entertaiment fast and furious i think you will enjoy watching Ghost Rider. (DVD contains the original Swedish version and also the edited US version).

I like most bikers like to think they ride quick. The first time I saw this film I just sat for 40 mins with my jaw hanging open! Its really scary! Just watch it and you'll see what I'm getting at! Wide open at 299 kph, (they're in Sweden OK) blasting through traffic. The whole time I'm thinking, this can't last long but it does.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just a tidbit of info for when you're watching this, July 22, 2004
This review is from: Ghost Rider: The Final Ride (DVD)
I got news for you... He's going faster than 180mph

that bike does 199 off the showroom floor, and that's before being turbo charges and having it's horsepower more than doubled. The reason you see 299 on the speedometer is that's where they max out! So the camera guy is going at least 180 when the ghost rider blows by him doing a wheelie. I'd say he's going at least 230mph.

5.0 out of 5 stars This movie rocks!, April 26, 2005
This review is from: Ghost Rider: The Final Ride (DVD)
anyone who has an issue with ghost rider is a dork. At what time did riding a motorcycle hella fast, running from cops, and doing mad stunts become a stoner affair? moron. anyways this movie is awsome. This fool speeds up and down europe like its nothing. Going 230 on a bike is no kids play. This is the most extreme motrcycle movie out there.

unless you're a motorcycle stunt fan and know everything about the sport worldwide, you have to be a diehard stoner to sit through this CHEAP, amateur, low-budget foreign documentary. there's no narration or story--nothing to explain how Ghost Rider got his name--but the background music is great. it's a little hard to tell what's going on in the beginning, a long, drawn-out computer animation of the rider zipping through freeway traffic at break-neck speed. i thought: "they're going to cut to the guy's room and show him shutting down his PC any minute, right?" but the minute stretched on to a half HOUR; then the scene abruptly switched to stunt demonstrations. it reminded me of a cop show.
