Jason Aaron is an Eisner and Harvey Award nominated comic book writer best known for the critically acclaimed crime series Scalped for Vertigo and stints on Black Panther, Ghost Rider and Wolverine: Weapon X for Marvel. Current projects include Wolverine, Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine and PunisherMAX, all for Marvel. He was born in Alabama but currently resides in Kansas City.

Tony Moore's Art is without Equal,

I am a tremendous fan of Tony Moore's artwork, and this is the selling point for this collection for me. These issues collect stand alone stories which focus on the Caretaker, Danny, and Johnny respectively. This is Jason Aaron at his best most depraved and violent and it is wonderful to finally have an artist that can match and even surpass this level of absurdity. No fault against the previous artists that have worked with Aaron, but their style seemed ill defined and awakward; they establish the mood well, but not the details necessary. As this is the penultimate collection of Aaron's run on the title I must say I was expecting a little more as far as expansion of the ongoing storyline, but these tales when viewed alone outside of that context are some of the most well-crafted convergences of writing and art that I have had the pleasure to view. I highly recommend this book to anyone who may have enjoyed either Moore or Aaron's work on other titles as I am sure it will be an outstanding addition. And as I said, though there is a bit of an ongoing storyline these stories are removed enough that it does not require one to read the previous volumes.

it's hard to make ghost rider interesting--he looks cool, but his stories are usually pretty bad. compared to other GR tales, this is one of the best. compared to other things written by Jason Aaron, one of the best writers in the biz, it's just good.
