Beautiful Music, January 15, 2007
This review is from: Ghost in the Shell Sac Solid State Society (Audio CD)
This soundtrack does not only contain music from the SAC movie but from the second season of the series as well, which was a pleasant surprise as I had wrongly assumed that the songs in question (such as "take a little hand") had been forgotten or left off of the SAC soundtracks for good.
A beautiful soundtrack, though I would advise waiting for it to be released state side before buying it.
I don't know how it matches up with the movie (as Bandai has unwisely decided to anger fans by not giving it a timely release, and banning the fan version that might have hyped it a lot more than their poor business decisions do), but if the music is anything to say, it should be a lovely movie.

Yo Yo Yoko!, June 20, 2007
This review is from: Ghost in the Shell Sac Solid State Society (Audio CD)
Total YK freak here. Have EVERY album. IF you're also a fan you know you can't go wrong with our favourite japanese composer.
This album has the usual mix from classical instrumental to screaming (in a good way!) female techno rock in multiple languages with incredible technology and immaculate production.
The following are the vocal tracks. I'll leave any comment on the instrumental pieces to someone with more 'music critic savvy' but to me as a layman they are just as beautiful and 'full' as any movie music anywhere. Aramaki's Theme and Remedium in particular are very 'big' and moving.
1. Player: Rock track with Origa vocals (you know that means incomprehensible) with a respectable english rap.
2. Replica: Techno rock with Ilaria Graziano on (?language) vocals. My favourite track on the album. Great beats and echoes.
7. She is: Gabriel Robin (some say GR is YK) vocals. A delicate whispery vocal with pumping beat. Bit like bjork.
8. From the rooftop, snipers theme: Fantastic english language pop song with Graziano on vocal again.
"motion with no sound
ice inside the fire
the stillness in the storm
silence hides the sniper
eagles come and go
to someplace much higher
and when the silence grows
can you hear it, sniper?"
Sweet! (Except for an annoying accoustic cymbals and drum piece at the beginning.)
12. Date of rebirth: Psycho techno rock again with Origa. Russian(?) except for the line 'it's a real illusion'!
13. Take a little hand: Gabriel Robin doing vocal, sounds like a multi-layered choir. Very cool, beautiful, chill piece with accoustic guitar and maybe a mandolin.
As the other reviewer has mentioned a lot of this album is in GITS SAC 2ndGIG. I had a hundred plays of the album on my pod before i saw the series. To hear this album when i wasn't expecting it was great!
Any YK fan, Jpop fan, anime music fan, movie music fan, and anyone who gets excited about discovering new and wonderful music should get this album now!

This CD has wild range of music, from high technology music to classical instrument. Actually, I love the movie and therefore I bought the music as well. It only took about 1 week time shipping to Hong Kong, quick delivery!
