Kanno-san has always produced excellent soundtracks for movies and animated features (such as Macross Plus), but has excelled herself in her work on the two Ghost In The Shell STAND ALONE COMPLEX series.

Her sense of style and brilliant pacing help keep the audience on the edge of their seat, braced with anticipation, etc. As well as being an effective soundtrack to the series, this album is emminently listenable to on its own.

Kanno-san introduces many themes into the music, and draws on influences from Japan, Russia and the Western world (Latin is used is many sections).

All in all, a top flight album!

This is the PLUS edition of Stand Alone Complex original soundtrack 1. The 17th track included. It's Get 9 (TV Size)! The theme music of broadcast-by-NTV version. Of course, Yoko Kanno composed the wonderful musics.

I'm not the type of guy who typically enjoys anime, even movie soundtracks but there is something about this O.S.T. that really draws me in. Almost all the tracks in this CD has been handled with such care and thought that I have a hard time skipping them and I consider myself very picky. Honestly if you consider yourself a fan of the show and enjoy a change in music every once and again you'll probably love this as much as I do. The person behind this soundtrack truly is a genius whether she is recognized for it or not.

Haven't bought a CD in a while so it took me a while to RIP it to MP3, LOL.
