I am a believer in ghosts and in the fact that some people have extrasensory perception, but I just found her to be unbelievable. The places she went were well known and it would have been easy for her to know the stories before hand. It also seemed that the information came too easily to her. What a great book. I started reading it on a flight to London and couldn't put it down until it was finished. Unlike other books on the same subject, Michelle Whitedove actually takes us along for the ride. You feel like you are the fourth person on the adventure. The background history and travelogue provide the needed information to better understand each haunted location. Unlike some other books I have read on the subject, which seemed to stretch the truth, this book tells it like it happened. From the very exciting findings, to the times when not much of anything happened. The channeled information will give you insight that few have, the "real" story behind some of our most famous haunted locations.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a MUST READ!!, April 26, 2003

Wow, what a book! I finished it in one day, I simply could not put the book down! This book is the most detailed, interesting book about haunted houses I have ever read. First, it describes the fascinating history of each haunted place, then describes their visit to these places, and it makes you feel like you are right there with them! Then, after these visits, Michelle goes on to channel information from her spirit guides about what actually happened with these ghosts, or "lost spirits". Her book also helps dispel any common misconceptions about what a ghost actually is. Most are just "lost souls" who are confused and remains on the earthly plane. Not only does Michelle's book take you on an adventure to these haunted places, it also give you much educational knowledge about why these places are haunted, and what vortexes are. I've learned a lot as a result of reading her book, and I highly recommend this book for anyone who desires to learn and be educated about the truths of the "hauntings" and the history behind it. This book is a winner!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghosts Speak / Medium Listens, January 11, 2005

This review is from: Ghost Stalker: A Psychic Medium Visits America's Most Haunted Sites (Paperback)
Ghost Stalker is unique. This book is written by a psychic investigator who thoroughly explains the phenomena of ghosts and hauntings. This author does not propose theories, as many other books do. Michelle Whitedove has communicated with the "Other Side" since she was a child, so she gives us the facts in a way that everyone can understand. In this book Michelle Whitedove treks across America visiting some very haunted places. She writes in travelogue style so that you are along for the trip. You will visit The Bird Cage Theater in Tombstone Arizona, a saloon that is inhabited with invisible gunslingers and dance hall girls, Myrtles Plantation, in bayous of Louisiana, where a slave still watches over the children that she poisoned, and the Queen Mary where some wealthy patrons still reside...even after death. All of these locations were all well documented and extremely interesting. She also visited a host of haunted places off the beaten path, most of which are open to the public. So if you are a ghost enthusiast, this book will give you definitive answers along with an entertaining journey across America. Michelle Whitedove is the author of several other books on spirit communication and life after death.

Once again, with a depth of honesty that's so identifiable with Michelle, she takes us on a great adventure of the paranormal. I found this book at times to be so humorous that I laughed out loud while reading it, and at times so scarey that I had to look over my shoulder to make sure nothing was there. Only the truth can move you so swiftly through a book. Read this book it's EXCELLENT, and definately a cut above the multidudes of books on the same subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Ghost Encounters!, May 24, 2006
This review is from: Ghost Stalker: A Psychic Medium Visits America's Most Haunted Sites (Paperback)
This was the third book by Michelle Whitedove that I have read. It is a complete departure from her first two books on the phenomena of Angels and after death communication. Ghost Stalker is a wonderful book full of educational material including a glossary. The author gives so much information on ghosts, evil spirits, and some of America's most infamous haunted places. As an author and Psychic-Medium, it is great to learn the true facts from someone who can SEE and COMMUNICATE with spirits. She gives a unique perspective on the age old questions: Are ghosts real? What are orbs? How do ghosts travel? Why do they stay in these places? Are hauntings a method of communication? etc. Plus I really enjoyed the way the book was written from the actual journal pages of her ghost trip. You feel as if you are there driving with her and experiencing these haunted places. This is a fascinating account of her trip. I especially enjoyed the chapter on Tombstone, Arizona. Don't expect an "over the top" piece if fiction. This book is very believable and full of valuable insights about ghosts and why these souls refuse to leave their Earthly home. I highly recommend it! PS. Michelle Whitedove's website has her trip photos so you can see the places for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghostly Enjoyable & Humorous, February 26, 2009

This book was thoroughly enjoyable as well as humorous! Michelle Whitedove and her two dear friends and compatriots, Maliena Slaymaker and Shanté Powders visit, absorb and tell us of the atmosphere and mystery surrounding these handpicked haunted places. I am especially thankful for the directness of impression and realistic shared feelings (i.e. Page 76 - This man was in the room with us and I could smell him like a pair of old, smelly socks; Page 81 - Finally we lost our nerve and ran back out into the stairwell) while investigating the paranormal happenings, as well as the historical background that gives us insight into the story.

Michelle again stirs into the pot various commentary/statements from famous (and not so famous, i.e. who is Wittgenstein?) people and they fit in so well, add humor and provoke thought. Well researched!

If I were to improve upon the book, I would have added the pictures that coincide with each ghostly investigation. To me, it would have enhanced the whole reading experience as I would have liked to see what they were seeing - more or less - as the story progressed.

Michelle Whitedove writes in a delightful down-to-earth manner which suits a majority of people - meaning it is not over anyone's head to understand the book, even a child. She also gives the resources of her search as well as their websites. Kudos Michelle (and staff)!!!

Thanks for your message. But, that book I purchase was for my friend. Both books for the matter. I must say she is enjoying it! I have not received that one as yet, but the one after.
We had a lot of holidays here in St. Maarten, so that maybe why.
But, she is pleased with the other book.
Thank you,
N. Sattaur

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK WILL GRAB YOU AND NOT LET GO!, May 19, 2003

THIS BOOK WILL GRAB YOU AND NOT LET GO! Be prepared to read the whole book once you start because you won't want to put it down until you finish it!
I met Michelle Whitedove when she was doing research for this book at The Lodge in Cloudcroft, New Mexico where I work. I found her to be a very exciting and intriguing person.
Ms Whitedove has the uncanny ability to include you in the saga as you travel with her, so that you experience what she experiences as she travels from California to Louisiana visiting famed "haunted places" in Ghost Stalker. In many places you can feel the hair on your neck stand up as you participate in the adventure!
I am very honored that Ms Whitedove saw fit to include my non-fiction short story, "The Unruly Guest on Friday the Thirteenth" in Ghost Stalker.
