This review is from: Ghost Talker's Daydream, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
After the intriguing first volume, I was eager to see what the other volumes would be like. I purchased it without having read it, which is a rarity for me as I usually tend to read the first 2-3 volumes before investing in a series. (Sometimes they can start strong, but then get weak later on.) I wasn't disappointed with this volume at all!
Sticking to the self-contained chapter storylines, we are treated to three stories. Each involve the S&M Mistress/part time necromancer Misaki, as well as her go between Souichirou. The first shows Misaki at her S&M job as she discovers that one of her clients have suddenly died, leaving her as the primary suspect! The next story has Misaki going to a rather forbidding forest where the vengeful spirits of a serial murderer's victims try to take their revenge on any that attempt to come through. The final storyline has a character from the first volume (Ai) return, only to show us that Ai has begun seeing ghosts since her traumatic experience in the first volume. Like I said in the first volume, this is not a series for anyone that is easily offended or is a minor. There is graphic sex & occasionally violence, but it is all integral to the storyline in one form or another. (Although most could tell it would likely be a graphic manga by the cover art.) I really do recommend this manga to people who like adult manga (not the hentai type, but the manga that's geared towards adults rather than teens or kids). |
