Why is this CD listed as an import, and as high as $35!,

I ask this because I was able to acquire this soundtrack in my of my local used music stores for $7.99 about two years ago. In my opinion, the majority of the material on this disc rivals and may even surpass the 1984 original. The movie was, on the average, typically mediocre, Dan Ackroyd and Harold Ramis definetly could have done a better job with the screenplay this time around, I feel, but bening up against Batman in the theatres in 1989 probably didn't help either. Anyway, on to review the material on this collection. The only songs I don't care for are Doug E. Fresh's "Spirit", it being the wrong kind of rap that I don't enjoy, and Howard Huntsberry's (Who?) "Higher And Higher" remake. Both of Bobby Brown's "new for this compilation" tunes "On Our Own" and "We're Back" really rock, in the former, he explains the movie's plot, silly as it was! Bobby is then heard as one of the lead singers for the '80's R and B group New Edition "Supernatural" along with colleagues Ralph Tresvant and Bell Biv Devoe, I believe. Then comes my favorite on this CD, "J.T.'s" "The Promised Land", and next the purely excellent Run-DMC "Ghostbusters Rap", it's really funky. As for the next three, Oingo Boingo's "Flesh N Blood", Elton John's (! ) "Love Is A Cannibal", and "Glenn Frey's "Flip City", they are all OK rock-pop tunes on this collection, no problems there. All in all, this soundtrack really shouldn't be hard to find, I strongly advise against buying it from this site. Until next time, people, "I ain't 'fraid of no ghost!"

Listening to this music from the wonderful movie brings me back to that happier time in my life, 1989, with fewer cares, etc. It helps me relive that first time watching it in the theaters. That is, when I'm not actually watching the DVD at home. But there is something about the music in this CD. It really is awesome! My favorites are "On Our Own" (of course!), "We're Back", "Flip City" and "Higher and Higher." This is truly some of the best music for any movie, any time, IMO. If you are still a Ghostbusters fan (as I continue to be and always will), then you really must get this CD for your collection. It is well worth the money spent, however you can get it, wherever you can find it (the CD, that is). Who ya gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS! :)

That's part of the Ghostbusters song by Run-DMC. It may even be better than the original by Ray Parker Jr. In fact, the reason I bought this soundtrack was for the Run-DMC version. Although the other songs aren't without their charms. To summarize, this is a great CD. I highly recommend it, especially to any ghosthead.
