5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Game, March 9, 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Ghostbusters (Video Game)
This was a fun game, much better than the Ghostbuster games for the NES or Sega Game Master. It actually has non-linear levels and proposes some amount of difficulty through the game play.

The controls are decent and the cartoonish look just makes it fun to watch. The ghosts in the game are original (by that, I mean that they weren't from the movies nor from the cartoon series). You can shoot in any direction, but you have adjust the aim yourself.

For some reason, the ghostbusters in this game shoot out slime rather than proton beams, but who cares? It's a fun game and well worth playing.

I suggest trying to find it for the $20 to $30 range, though. Anything more than that is probably a ripoff unless you're REALLY wanting to collect these games.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghostbusters, June 1, 2005
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Ghostbusters (Video Game)
This is the greatest Ghostbusters game ever made even though only a couple were made. It starts off with 4 different sections to choose from. The high rise, the burning building, the ice building and the haunted house. Each house has 2 sub ghosts and 1 boss ghost. For all ghosts that are caught at the end of the battle you are paid for to get better weapons and health. Definitely one of the best 2-D side scrollers ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars It hard at first, but gets easier!!!, December 4, 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Ghostbusters (Video Game)
The first time I played this game was back in 1993, I didn't read the manual and I had no idea what to do. I was renting at the time and on the day it was due...something clicked. Then the game went from confusing to...I'm a GhostBuster!!!
You can play 1 of 3 Ghost Busters...I don't think you get to be the black guy...now that I think about...hmm...so anyway. You get to make some house calls and there is 2 bosses at least in the 4 stages, a mini-boss and a Main-boss (You can change a bunch of different options to make the game easier). Getting your ghost trap down and ready takes skill that you can achieve. but there are many upgrades you can make by capturing ghosts, or finding safes with cash in the houses you are meant to protect (Obviously you blame the looting on the ghosts...because you know...their taste buds are set for simple metallics and gemstones...such as er...gold).
With great sound, pictures that almost look like ghost, and having actual stages...this game is worth it. Nothing like the ones for NINTENDO...NOTHING!!! No car chases, no fuel, but a giant turkey that refills your health. Also you can stock up on cash by leaving the house and going back to base before you actually finish the stage and the graphics remind me a little of Mega-Man.

-Thanks
