Usually, I don't do reviews, but I've got to on this one. I rated it a 4 because Ghostface just always puts out the best of darts. If you're one of those people who only like artists based on their highest-charting singles or just like to get into artists via the Greatest Hits collection, then get this. But if you REALLY want to get the best of Ghostface, get ALL THREE of...

Mostly a compilation album. Most of the songs are off Iron Man and Supreme Caliente.. may be a few original songs. The copy that i have doesn't have Winter Warz on it.. i dunno maybe they're different copies running around someplace. You can definatly find better than this in the Wu camp.

If you're one of those people who only like artists based on their highest-charting singles or just like to get into artists via the Greatest Hits collection, then get this. But if you REALLY want to get the best of Ghostface, get ALL THREE of his CDs, because the best cuts can be found there. Yeah, this one has amazing joints like Apollo Kids, Poisonous Darts and Daytona 500, but it's missing Black Jesus, Mighty Healthy, Motherless Child, the Forest and others that'll blow your mind. If you really prefer the taste test first, then peep this. After that, you're gonna want all three albums. Trust me. Like another review suggested, Start with Iron Man first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghost is the new Older God, April 5, 2008
This review is from: Ghostface Killah: Shaolin's Finest (Audio CD)
I am an avid Ghostface fan, this album is on point, it has all the classic Ghost material. But, we all know that this compilation was made by his first record company after he defected to Def Jam, so you cannot always expect for them to give you the best product. but for what it is worth, as usual, Ghost's darts are as sharp as ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghostface Killah - Shaolin's Finest, November 19, 2006
By

This review is from: Ghostface Killah: Shaolin's Finest (Audio CD)
After putting out a classic and two very solid albums, Ghostface Killah decided to release "Shaolin's Finest," a greatest hits album (already?). This album features tracks from 1996's "Ironman" all the way until 2001's "Bulletproof Wallets." It was released in the early months of 2003.

1. Daytona 500 (Featuring Raekwon & Cappadonna) - 4.5/5

2. Poisonous Darts - 4.5/5

3. Camay (Featuring Raekwon & Cappadonna) - 4/5

4. All That I Got Is You (Featuring Mary J. Blige) - 5/5

5. Child's Play - 4/5

6. One - 4.5/5

7. Malcolm - 4/5

8. Apollo Kids (Featuring Raekwon) - 5/5

9. Cherchez LaGhost (Featuring U-God) - 3.5/5

10. Ghost Showers - 4/5

11. Never Be the Same Again (Featuring Carl Thomas & Raekwon) - 5/5

12. Strawberry (Featuring Killah Sin) - 4/5

Overall:

52/60

4.5 Stars

This greatest hits album is very solid considering Ghostface always puts out quality music. He could have done a little better with selecting the tracks to include on here, but it's still good nonetheless. If you have his first three albums, you aren't missing anything though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghost Spits the Goods, February 16, 2004

Okay, after just 3 studio cd's a "Best Of" cd is prolly a bit premature, but damn if'n Mr. Dennis Coles ain't one of the best rhymers kickin' today (he's my #1 ace), so this can be a primer for alla you who haven't heard any of the Master's rhyming.
This cd has a cross section of blasting hip-hop gems from Ghost's 3 cd's: Ironman, Supreme Clientele, and Bulletproof Wallets. All three are required listening for any hip-hop fan, but this collection serves as a good intro for anyone trying GK out, though if you don't have anything by Ghost, I'd say just go for it and buy all 3 of his discs--they won't let you down.
Lots of people say his 2nd CD "saved" the Wu-Tang Clan and I dunno if that's fair, but I do know that outta alla the Wu rhymers, NONE, I repeat, NONE of them has had a consistency of quality on their solo projects that Ghost has had.
This is a good comp for the uninitiated, but spending the extra dough and getting all 3 of his discs is a much better investment.

By A Customer
This review is from: Ghostface Killah: Shaolin's Finest (Audio CD)
its a greatest hits cd made up of lots of songs that are far from his greatest.
all these songs are from iron man, supreme clientele or bulletproof wallets.

if you want to get into ghostface, buy ironman.

3.0 out of 5 stars I COULD OF MADE A BETTER "BEST OF", January 23, 2006
By
TECHWON (SYRACUSE, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ghostface Killah: Shaolin's Finest (Audio CD)
I AGREE W/ THE FIRST REVIEWER THEY NEED REAL FANS TO PUT SOME OF THESE "BEST OF" TAPES TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY JUST PUT THE SINGLES AND NOT THE ILLEST JOINTS OR UNDERGROUND STUFF NAHMEAN I COULD OF MADE A ILL LIST OF TRACKS. FOR EXAMPLE MY BEST OF GFK LIST IS AT LEAST 52 TRACKS ( THAT NOT INCLUDING ALL HIS VERSES FROM THE WU TANG CLAN) IF I WANTED TO INCLUDE THEM IT WOULD BEEN LONGER BUT IT'S MOSTLY B-SIDES, MIXTAPE MATERIAL AND FREESTYLES. I LOVE GHOST LIKE THE NEXT FAN BUT THIS IS JUST A SCRATCH OF HIS BEST OF.

5.0 out of 5 stars ghostface showers us with hits, May 8, 2003

This review is from: Ghostface Killah: Shaolin's Finest (Audio CD)
personally i dont write many reviews, but after listening to ghostfaces latests album i felt i needed to let people know how good it is, well its real good most properly the best so far this year in my view, even though it aint a new album as it has mainly old joints, but the new ones are great, especially ghost showers which flips in and out of tempo's with one the sickest beats i have heard for a while, how can mans forget all that i got is you which i think is one of the most heartfelt rhymes ever about hard times growing up,why ghostface realesed this album and not a full studio album?only the WU knows
overall? most definatley worth money

5.0 out of 5 stars Decent Best of Ghost album - 4stars, February 24, 2005
By
This review is from: Ghostface Killah: Shaolin's Finest (Audio CD)
First off I give it 4 stars (not 5) because it has good songs on here, BUT I could have pulled off many many more songs he was on from before 2003 and made a 3 disc best of album. They left off alot of his better underground hits and didn't use any songs with him that weren't on his albums. Track 1-4 are off "Ironman", 5-9 are off "Supremem Clientele" and 10-12 are off "Bulletproof Wallets". I wish they'd have let a real fan who knows about Ghost and his music to pull together and make this "Hits" album, and even if you only put it on one CD they still could have got at 16 to 19 songs on it and made a 5 star GREAT album with 75 to 80 minutes of music. Shame on the ones who put the tracklisting together.
Cop all of his solo albums, they all are 4 stars or better.

Dont buy this cd. For real if we wanted some mix cds we'd get them off kazaa, RIGHT? Get the Ironman cd, that is what made rap/hip hop what it is today.
