4.0 out of 5 stars Take one legendary flier...
Out of nowhere a Cesna lands in the LAX airport and a flier who looks and sounds like Amelia Earhart steps out of the 1930s plane. One little detail though, she looks as though she's in her 30s and Earhart would've been much, much older. An engaging yarn of anti-aging medical miracles, Nazis determined to take over the world again and brave Americans out to stop them...

versus
2.0 out of 5 stars fascinating idea, but silly and poorly carried through
Spoilers ahead (no way to discuss this book without giving away the main plot point right away): Amelia Earhart never died, but was captured by Nazis and given an experimental longevity serum later given to Hitler...40 years later, she returns to the past to save the world for the Third Reich rising again. This is a fast-paced, wholly silly mixture of genres...

Spoilers ahead (no way to discuss this book without giving away the main plot point right away): Amelia Earhart never died, but was captured by Nazis and given an experimental longevity serum later given to Hitler...40 years later, she returns to the past to save the world for the Third Reich rising again. This is a fast-paced, wholly silly mixture of genres (Nazi/SF/romance) that read to me like a mash-up between Clive Cussler and Dean Koontz, with a sprinkling of Richard Matheson's "Bid Time Return." It keeps moving, but the characters are cardboard and the resolution unconvincing and unmoving. A good time-waster should you happen across this out-of-print item, but I wouldn't go searching for it unless you're obsessed with Earhart.

Nothing too mentally straining but a fun read of a thriller.
