Book Description

The five stories in this collection were written by Sullivan in the hours and days immediately following the attacks on the US, on 9/11/2001, and showcase the author's attempts to come to terms with the disaster and what it would mean for his nation, and the world, in the days to follow.

"The Last Terrorist" tells of the hunt to track down the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks and bring him to justice. "110 Stories" contemplates the cost in human life when the first plane crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. In "Struggle in the Sky," martial artist Jason Wu deals out rough justice to a plane full of hijackers. "Fight the Darkness" showcases the struggle of one family caught in the war that would inevitably follow the attacks. Finally, "The Ghosts of September Eleventh" wreak terrible vengeance on those responsible for the attacks. Each story in this collection demonstrates the powerful, heartfelt emotions evoked by this terrible attack on the United States and its people.

"Most impressive, though, is [Sullivan's] cycle of 9-11-inspired genre pieces. For here, like a [Rod] Serling for our century, the author moves beyond realism not for the sake of mere entertainment, but in order to ponder the imponderable, address the unanswerable -- and plead for an earthly justice that, sad to say, remains firmly embedded within the realm of fantasy." - Paul McComas, Author of "Planet of the Dates" and "Unplugged."

The stories in this volume originally appeared in "Martian Knights & Other Tales."

4.0 out of 5 stars A Serling for Our Century September 9, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Like a Serling for our century, the author moves beyond realism in this collection not for the sake of mere entertainment, but in order to ponder the imponderable, address the unanswerable, rethink the unthinkable -- and plead for an earthly justice that, sad to say, remains firmly embedded within the realm of fantasy. A unique and strangely fitting tribute, not to be missed.

The only thing invisible was Sullivan's writing talent; there was none!!!! I feel like a victim spending any money on this nonsense.

9/11 shocked everyone that was alive to witness it and I always like learning as much as I can about it as a history major.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! September 11, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
These stories are both patriotic, and inspiring. Stephen D. Sullivan has done it again! This collection reflects the desire for justice in the hearts of many Americans, myself included. Ghosts of 9/11 exemplifies the feelings of many a beleaguered American, following the attacks on our Country by the cowardly Taliban. Thank you Stephen, for paying your respects to those that perished, in such a splendid manner. Don't pass up the opportunity to read this Collection!

More About the Author - Adventure guaranteed. (Monsters optional.)

I've got a whole lot of books on Amazon, so where should you start? Here are some suggestions:

ADULT FANTASY: Tournament of Death books, Crimson Collection
YOUNG ADULT FANTASY: my Dragonlance books
SCIENCE FICTION: The Last Ranodon, Heart of Steam & Rust
HORROR: Frost Harrow series (2013)
OVERVIEW: Martian Knights & Other Tales

But, of course, I've written lots of books for lots of different tastes, so feel free to browse and find one that's right for you.

I was born in 1959 in Illinois, grew up in Massachusetts, attended SMU (U. Mass, Dartmouth), and moved to Wisconsin to work on Dungeons & Dragons (for TSR) in 1980.

I've been in Wisconsin ever since, writing stories, drawing, gaming, and raising kids with my wife (whom I've been with since 1980 as well).

I've had more than 50 books published (counting the anthologies, collections, and the ghost-written stuff not listed by name on Amazon). I've also helped create more comic books and games than I can either list or remember. (More than 30 years in publishing will do that to you.) Projects I've worked on include D&D, Iron Man, Dragonlance, Spider Riders, Fantastic 4, Star Wars, Speed Racer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Middle Earth, Thunderbirds, The Simpsons, Darkwing Duck, The Twilight Empire, the Blue Kingdoms (with co-creator Jean Rabe), and many, many more.

I am co-creator and co-host of Uncanny Radio, a program dedicated to the strange and supernatural, with my friend Linda Godfrey. Though original over-the air broadcasts have ended, UR can still be heard in repeats online at Every now and again, I guest host on Vince Rotolo's B-Movie Cast (podcast).

I currently create fantasy and adventure stories (and art) full time. I've spent much of the past year posting stories -- both original and reprints -- online for Kindle and other ebook readers.
