5.0 out of 5 stars Passionate and Exhaustive, April 9, 2010
This review is from: Ghosts of the Adobe Walls (Paperback)
Murbarger, the self-proclaimed "Roving Reporter of the Desert" created this brilliant survey of the lost and not-at-all lost sites of the Southwest -- "an intimate chronicle of Arizona's deserted mining boom camps, stage stations, army posts, ranches, and amazing human characters." Like most great books that fall into the category of local histories, Murbarger captures the essence of a region while making larger connections with the human condition in general.

At any rate, this remarkable labor of love was first released in 1964 by Treasure Chest Publications out of Tucson. Trade paperback, 398 pp, b&w illustrations, index.
