About the Author

Jackie Eileen Behrend, author, historian, and photographer, was born in Glens Falls, New York. As a young girl she moved with her mother to Hendersonville, North Carolina. Although schooled in business in college, Jackie's interest in history grew when she moved to Williamsburg, Virginia. Her subsequent research led to her book The Hauntings of Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown, a combination of history and folklore set in Virginia's historic triangle. For this work The Library of Virginia nominated her as author of the best nonfiction book in the state. Jackie later brought the ghost stories in the book to life via her popular candlelit walking tour of Colonial Williamsburg. Jackie now lives in Ocean Pines, Maryland, where she conducts for visitors her latest ghost tour, The Ghosts of Ocean City and Berlin.
