Thinking person's horror,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ghosts Who Cannot Sleep (Paperback)
There's no vampires or werewolves here, so if you must have those to enjoy your horror experience, you may prefer to look elsewhere. What you will find is a tremendously varied collection of stories, each of which will pick you up by the collar, shake you around, and force you to think again about what you think you know. A young woman listens to her mother... A talented musician overestimates his gift... A lonely woman meets someone special... A future president and his future assassin become, for a brief moment, comrades... Last but not least, these stories made me realize that the horror genre wasn't necessarily what I had always assumed it was, but a category of literature I'd like to have a much closer look at.
