More About the Author

What I wouldn't do to return to childhood one more time and experience fishing from the bank as a little girl, especially in the dark. I'm country to the core. I fish, camp, swim in the lake, eat from a garden, drive a pickup truck, work outside, live in jeans and T-shirts, and my accent is a blend of country and southern. My favorite get-together is a barbecue in the back yard. I prefer tea to beer, but prefer Diet Coke over both those. I prefer the Outback Steak House to The Four Seasons Restaurant. I believe in God and the saving grace of His son Jesus. I believe in miracles and fairy tales, and I learned the secret of hope from a Dean Koontz novel (Frankenstein: City of Night).

I have an unstoppable curiosity about the world around me. I want to explore the coast of North Carolina, explore as many castles of the world as I can, visit haunted places all over the United States, and I absolutely love old graveyards! I know, it sounds a bit morbid, but I love all things strange and unusual. I want to see Australia someday, visit Ireland, Italy and Egypt.

During the summer months I like to swim, hike, camp, fish and just be outdoors. Other hobbies include reading, writing poetry, and exploring the Internet. I also love music! I listen to country, 80's rock and some 90's rock. Bon Jovi is my favorite rock band, followed by Savage Garden, Aerosmith, Matchbox Twenty & Green Day. In country, Tim McGraw is my favorite. I also like Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Faith Hill, Sara Evans, Trisha Yearwood, Clay Walker, Kellie Coffey, Chad Brock. I could go on and on! My favorite Christian Rock band is Petra. I also like Point of Grace, Steven Curtis Chapman and Carmen.

I love pretty pictures, puppies and kitties and have a soft spot for soldiers. Daisies are my favorite flowers. Ideals, Cowboy & Indians, and Fate are among my favorite magazines. I love the smell of vanilla, honey-suckle and Stetson Cologne for men. My favorite cartoons are Scooby Doo, Rocko's Modern Life, Pinky & The Brain, and SpongeBob Squarepants.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Intriguing Ghost Story, December 4, 2009
This review is from: The Ghosts of Daemon Yarborough (Paperback)
A must read for any ghost hunter, treasurer seeker, mystery solver, even the romantic. Great for all ages. You'll enjoy being transported in time, and to places where you would just die to go. And the characters draw you in to experience their emotions as well. I loved this book from the very start. Margaret has a wonderful talent that everyone should explore.
p.s. Makes me want to find an old mansion to rent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spooky, chilling, AWESOME!, July 5, 2009
This review is from: The Ghosts of Daemon Yarborough (Paperback)
This was an enticing book. The spooky storyline is imaginative and suspenseful. The creative writing style of the author really appealed to me. I was hooked and engaged right from the introduction to the setting. I really enjoyed this novel, especially the old Yarborough Mansion in particular. The house is fantastical and Marr wove its history and the characters into the opening so very well. I love the murder mystery at the heart of the story.
The characters are diverse and fascinating. It's pretty fast paced with a spooky atmosphere, which kept me flipping the pages to see what would happen next! Highly recommend!
