This review is from: Ghosts of the Glory Trail (Paperback)
This is a very good account of western ghost towns in Nevada, California and Utah. These towns flourished for a time, usually populated by miners, prospectors and boomers, and then died -- sometimes overnight. Murbarger tracked down and interviewed a number of former and current residents and does a good job of telling their stories. One of her subjects was my grandfather, Maury Stromer, the last resident of Broken Hills, Nevada. I'm familiar with several of the locations she deals with and her descriptions are authentic.
