Good History and Hauntings,

This review is from: Ghosts of New York (Hardcover)
Quick little book on NY ghosts, contains some interesting background info, probably best or most enjoyable to a new yorker or someone familiar with it. Biggest complaint: not long enough and some of the coverage was a bit "slap dash", but one of the better "true hauntings" books i've read (and i have a whole library of them), good for a relaxing afternoon!

This review is from: Ghosts of New York (Hardcover)
GHOSTS OF NEW YORK by Susan Blackhall is a lovely coffee table history of the world of spirits in a famous city. The sepia tone images create the right atmosphere for the brief historical accounts of some of the more famous sites.
This is the season to enjoy a good ghost hunt and there are plenty of famous faces and those not so famous to occupy your imagination even if you live nowhere near New York. I did miss the inclusion of any photographs of the spirit world that show up on film and digital and cannot be explained. Hans Hollzer published several of these, but the books are no longer available.
