"Ghosts of the Abyss Soundtrack",
By A Customer
This review is from: Ghosts of the Abyss (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (Audio CD)
The music fits the film well. The best tune on the album is a remake of Darkness, Darkness (youngbloods 1967) sung by an unknown artist Lisa Torban. A voice that just makes you repeat the selection over and over.

Ghosts of the Awesomeness,

Oh my goodness! This was the best 3D Imax I have ever seen! (and yes I've seen more than one). And the soundtrack made it as good as it is! The song at the end called Darkness, Darkness was so fantastic and made me cry so much! Best ever!

Mesmerizing, haunting, ad absolutely brilliant. I have listened to this CD repeatedly and still cannot get enough.
There is just enough of the original themes to keep that element there, but the rest is original. As one listens, we go from scene to scene, from days-gone-by to contemporary, all the while envisioning what both the modern-day crew and the passengers from the early 1900's were seeing and experiencing. In the end, you're wonderfully troubled by the ghostly rendition of the song Darkness, Darkness. Love it. Buy it. Kelly Libatique, author of Divine Knowledge Transfer and A Toast to the Holy Ghost?

A Fine Soundtrack,
This review is from: Ghosts of the Abyss (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (Audio CD)
I for one love soundtracks that you can listen too comfortably from first to last song, and which can be stand alone songs as well. This is one of those soundtracks! It certainly captures the moods and themes of the film: adventure, intrigue, and the more obvious themes when dealing with the Titanic of loss and hubris. McNeely and company have capture the entire spectrum for this underwater saga. I found the piano pieces, particularly "The Grand Staircase" and "I...I Had To Go" were quite stirring. They are simple piano pieces, yet the elegance and sense of loss is well captured. They are very nice to play on the piano yourself as well! You'll definitely want to pick up this soundtrack!
