5.0 out of 5 stars This book deserves more than three stars.
On a recent trip out west, I purchased Munn's book. 3.0 out of 5 stars If you like ghost stories, the book is very entertaining.
Although entertaining, Munn made several errors of geography. If you are unconcerned about Wyoming geography, you will enjoy the ghosts.

I found it to be well-researched and easy and fun to read. It was well-edited and presented in a professional way, unlike some vanity press offerings. I have read so many ghost stories that I am rarely scared or even "unsettled" by a good ghost story; however, one night as I was reading in bed, I reached over to make sure my husband was close by before I turned out the light! Buy this book for your collection. Ms. Munn is a good, thoughtful writer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and fun even with the lack of investigation., December 13, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Ghosts on the Range: Eerie True Tales of Wyoming (Paperback)
I knew Debra back when she was teaching at NWCC in Powell, WY and writing Ghosts on the Range. As I remember she simply put out a call for ghost stories. I Don't know how many stories she got or how many she actually investigated. I do know that it is an interesting read fact or fiction (for those who doubt). The "Dark Presence" alone is enough to give me chills. Since then I have had my own true ghostly encounter here in Powell. One that would have been great for the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this book!, July 6, 2002

This review is from: Ghosts on the Range: Eerie True Tales of Wyoming (Paperback)
I love this book, I've always been intrested in the paranormal and ghost stories......So when my husband and I were stationed in Wyoming while in the Air Force I purchased the book. Enjoyed every story and slept with the lights on after reading the chapter on 'The Dark Presence' that one really scared the daylights out of me....Didn't get to visit any of the places, but did have a few experiences while we lived in base housing. If you love ghost stories you'll love this book.

This review is from: Ghosts on the Range: Eerie True Tales of Wyoming (Paperback)
I'm from Rawlins, site of numerous tales in Ghosts on the Range, and while I would have liked the stories to be investigated and verified more, I am satisfied with the representation and general accuracy of the stories. Having experienced some of the entities firsthand, I was happy with details, and glad to know that perhaps readers will believe. I first read Ghosts when I was about 10, having always been interested in the paranormal. It's a very good, interesting read. Well..if you don't scare easily. Otherwise you might have to sleep with all the lights on. I think this sounds a little unstructured, but I'm not altogether here tonite, so you'll have to excuse my lack of focus.

This book is a wonderful collection of tales, be they of whatever nature -- super or imagi.

For example, the restaurant in Chugwater, or the library in Green River built over the cemetery. The drama and interest added to the lore of the ole west and Wonderful Wyoming is heightened. But my favorite is of Luther, the prankster ghost. A person of my own taste, he took a piece of liver and dropped it into the honey pot. This ghost knows cuisine!

Well worth the read!

5.0 out of 5 stars range ghosts, September 15, 2008
This review is from: Ghosts on the Range: Eerie True Tales of Wyoming (Paperback)
I lived in Glenrock Wy when this book came out. Like most Wyoming school children we went to Ft Laramie, and if there's ever a place that has ghosts, you betcha! I couldn't WAIT to get outta Old Bedlam, I had something tugging on my hair in the tour and I was LAST in line and I had short hair back then, and we visited Ft Laramie on the school trip a full year before the book came out, so no blamin a book on 'sugestive material' and there's no mention of ghosts and such on the tours either, its very dry educational stuff that bores 4th graders. But while Old Bedlam might be haunted as all get out, the worst place that wasn't mentioned was actually the jail cell they have there, you can hear whispers in there.
I've also seen the so called 'gas lights' outside of Casper, those are quite entertaining, if not a little creepy, though I rather though someone would call them a UFO, not a ghost. Actually anyone going to Wyoming can see those, usually best in late spring and early fall, they seem to be more visable then, and were more so in the 80's and early 90's then now.
Wyoming is a windswept<literally> and sparsely populated landscape. Its you and the cattle, and a few ghosts from the past. If you ever try the drive of I-25 at night you'll shrudder that long lonely drive from Cheyenne to Chugwater, where the wind howls louder with the sounds of the past. That light to the side, is it a far off ranch, or a ghost?

I am a librarian and I can't keep this book on my shelf! The fifth graders have never been so excited about a book I've talked. It may be slightly above their level, however the challenge makes them better readers, and they don't even know it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wyoming Ghosts, October 2, 2005

I am from Wyoming and I'm not aware of any geographical errors in the book as mentioned by a previous reviewer. I can tell you that I had my own "eerie" experience with the book itself. At the time, it was an honest-to-goodness goose-pimple thing. Even today it's pretty freaky as I think of it. Since it deals with a family member, I can tell you that the account is right on and accurate. The book's a good read...but I can tell you from experience, it's better to read it in the daytime when you're not alone.
