By A Customer
This review is from: Ghosts in Reality: The Unexplained Truth About Hauntings in Our World Today (Paperback)
Mr. Van Alst's "Ghosts in Reality" is a great book when it comes to learning about ghosts. He answers questions in easy-to-understand language. The book covers everything from where to find ghosts, ghosthunting techniques, even "future" hauntings. His website: www.vanalstspiritinvestigations.com is also a must-see. I am a member. If you are wanting to read a book that truly answers questions about ghosts, READ THIS BOOK! I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Van Alst at a book signing. He answered alot of my questions about the paranormal.Mr. Van Alst's lifetime of experience with the paranormal definately shows in this book, as well as his other writings. He spoke about "spirit" photography, and other ghost hunting equipment, but stated that one's "spirit" was the most important tool in ghost hunting. He welcomes "all" questions. Have a question about ghosts and hauntings? This guy has the answers.

Fascinating and educational,
This review is from: Ghosts in Reality: The Unexplained Truth About Hauntings in Our World Today (Paperback)
Ghost's in Reality was fascinating and extremely educational on the subject of hauntings today. Mr. van Alst uses language that is easy for anyone to read that is interested in pursuing this trade. Not only does he give a history of various haunted "hot spots", but he also explains the tools of the trade. What I found most interesting was his instructions on how one can cinduct his own investigations as well as contacts for additional help of needed. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in spirits and the afterlife.

This review is from: Ghosts in Reality: The Unexplained Truth About Hauntings in Our World Today (Paperback)
In his book, "Ghosts in Reality: The Unexplained Truth About Hauntings in Our World Today", author Randell S. Van Alst goes deep into explaining the previously unexplained truth about hauntings in our world today. His book is as intriguing as he is, since he has communicated with Ghosts from the time when he was a child. This book is convincing and is jam packed with information compiled from 10 years of investigations into Hauntings, Ghosts and Spirits. Randell not only openly shares his personal experiences and insight but he also shares his knowledge, listing the tools and methods he has used to retrieve, gather, organize and utilize his information. He encourages everyone to practice listening to their own spirit just as he does and invites everyone to do their own investigations. He reminds everyone that, prior to any investigation, one must firstly, always obtain permission, and secondly, one must always exercise respect and safety in regards to all levels of every investigation. He also offers self prescreening information to anyone who would like to check and see for themselves if doing spirit/haunting investigations is the thing for them. I thoroughly enjoyed reading, "Ghosts in Reality: The Unexplained Truth About Hauntings in Our World Today", and was Spiritually moved, changed and keenly affected after reading it.

Laughable "Truth" about Ghosts,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ghosts in Reality: The Unexplained Truth About Hauntings in Our World Today (Paperback)
This book is written by self-styled "ghost hunters" who seem to find ghosts and spirits nearly everywhere they look. Mr. Van Alst likes to call himself an investigator but seems to have no real investigative experience or credentials. He finds white spots in photos (called "orbs") and decides that they are evidence of ghosts-apparently he's poorly trained in photography and doesn't realize that the "orbs" can be caused by many normal things, such as a flash reflecting from dust in the air or shiny surfaces or insects. He also uses various dubious "ghost-detecting" devices that are simply misused scientific equipment. Van Alst is good at telling spooky ghost stories, but when he tries to "prove" that spirits and ghosts exist he fails badly. There may be evidence for "ghosts in reality," but little of it appears in this book. Only those who already firmly believe this stuff will find it interesting; anyone with a smattering of critical thinking or common sense will find it funny. I think Van Alst has seen Ghostbusters, Amityville Horror, and The Sixth Sense too many times.
