Book Description

Harlequin Blaze July 1, 2007

When a spirit from beyond begs Gage Vicknair to rescue a stranger named Makayla, he never expects that stranger to be the same sensuous woman he's been enjoying so thoroughly in his nightly fantasies. But Makayla is very real--and she's living a nightmare.

A vengeful murderer is determined to get her. And Gage is equally determined to save her.

Because the only way he and Makayla can have the love they've dreamed of is if they're still around to live it....

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghosts and Roses, October 29, 2007
This review is from: Ghosts And Roses (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
Gage Vicknair comes from an extraordinary family. He and his siblings
are mediums to lost souls who die and are unable to immediately cross
over into the spiritual realm. When Gage starts to hear the shrill
cry of a ghost, he knows that he is going to be given the task of
helping a spirit cross. To refuse is not an option.

Gage is working his last few minutes of his shift at the hospital
before his vacation when an ambulance brings in a woman who has been
brutally stabbed. Gage sees what no one else does - her spirit leaves
her body and implores his help to save a loved one. Now all Gage has
to do is find the woman, Makayla, and rescue her from danger so that
his latest spirit can happily go on to heaven.

Amnesiac Kayla has dreamed of him nightly. She doesn't know who he is
but he visits her dreams and makes her want him so much it hurts.
Unsure of who she is or how she came to be in the shelter, Kayla
spends her days trying to figure out why she feels so close to her
fantasy man. Kayla doesn't remember very much from her past, only
bits and pieces. One thing is for certain; someone wants her dead and
Gage is her only hope at staying safe.

Ghosts and Roses is author Kelley St. John's hauntingly beautiful
follow up to Kiss and Dwell, the first book of The Sexth Sense
trilogy. Ghost and Roses features playboy trauma doctor Gage Vicknair
and Makayla Sparks, the woman Gage's spirit implores him to save. The
chemistry between Gage and Kayla sizzles the pages of Ghost and Roses
and so I was fully engaged in this story. The plot was unique and I
like how realistic I found the story. I know that mediums exist and
supposedly talk to deceased people. But Kelley St. John's ability to
bring these characters and her stories to life amazes me. Thumbs up
for Ghosts and Roses. I am now looking forward to Shiver and Spice,
the third and final book of this incredible series.

The Vicknairs have a family tradition. Helping ghosts cross over.

This story is about Gage (brother to Monique from first in series, Kiss And Dwell (Harlequin Blaze)). ER Dr. Gage Vicknair, considered the playboy of the family, has been wanting to settle down and find the woman of his dreams. Literally. For two weeks Gage has been having sensual dreams about a woman he has never met, but wishes were real. Soon after he hears crying (a sign that he has been assigned a ghost) he finds out how real his dream woman is and how he must save her from a the same killer who murdered his assigned ghost.

Makayla has lost her memory. Doesn't who she is, where she lives or anything. She knows something bad has happened in her past but can't seem to recall what. What she does know is that the only time she feels safe is when she is dreaming. For two weeks, Kayla (the only name she gave herself since she doesn't know her name) has been having erotic dreams of a man with kind blue eyes. The only man, she's sure, that she could ever trust.
When a killer from her past comes back for revenge, Kayla is saved from him by Gage, her dream lover. However Gage's ghost is still there, meaning his assignment isn't over yet. Kayla is still in danger.
While trying to find and stop the killer, Gage and Kayla explore what they have only dreamed about. Kayla also remembers why this killer is after her. Will it be enough before the killer strikes again?

The SEXth Sense series has the best of both Blaze and Paranormal Romance. I'm thoroughly enjoying this series and can't wait for Dax Vicknair's story Shiver And Spice (Harlequin Blaze)

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable, October 7, 2008
This review is from: Ghosts And Roses (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book and its story line was an enjoyment to read. Kelly St. John gives you love and romance with a hint of who done it to keep you turning the pages. Gage is a great character who is a playboy hoping to find a love worth changing for and Kayla is the type of woman a girl can relate to. I recommend this book and the others in the series.
