This review is from: Ghosts of the Skies: Aviation in the Second World War (Hardcover)
Dear Buyers,This has to be the most beautiful documentation of World War II aviation. Looking at the amazing pictures, I think of my days flying Hellcats in the Pacific. This book brings tears to my eyes reading Phil Makanna's beautiful writing. This book is nothing short of superb. Thank You.

The photography alone makes this a 10 as far as WWII aviation books go, but this book has a lot more including snipits of history and some of the most meaningful quotes from WW2 heroes and leaders.

My husband is a WWII buff and he loves anything to do with aircraft. We found this book on other sights, but this had the best price. Ordering was easy and it came in time for Christmas. Thank you!

Philip Makanna, I own two of his books so far, and plan to purchase another. His books are excellent, great photos, big, good for a coffee table book. I have mine on the grand piano. I would guess if it is by this author, it is probably a good addition to your library.
