I think this is a great one to offer the eleven or twelve year old boy who likes ghost stories.

It was a good twist on the usual Titanic stories and I hung on to every word and finished the book over the afternoon when we got home from town.

I would recommend this book as a good easy teen reader with just enough mystery and just enough BOO!

This was a library book that I checked out last week, not a purchase from Amazon. I was at the library with my grandson and while I waited for him in the children's section I picked this book up and started reading it, since I'm always interested in more Titanic stories. I was hooked, so I checked the book out, even though it was from the children's section.

What a great book! The author did a fantastic job with the plot and characters. It was a good twist on the usual Titanic stories and I hung on to every word and finished the book over the afternoon when we got home from town.

I recommend this book to anyone from kids to us old people. It's easy enough for kids to understand but not so 'under written' as to be annoying for an adult to read it. I think I learned a few things too, looking at the other side of a parent-child relationship and I'm going to be more patient with my grandkids and let them finish their sentences and explain things, withough being so quick to jump down their throats. Thank you, author.

Ghosts of the Titanic by Julie Lawson

There are many stories about the Titanic and its survivors. There's hardly ever been any stories about how the bodies of those passengers who had died were retrieved from the icy cold waters of the Atlantic. Two weeks after the Titanic had sunk, seventeen year old Angus Seaton takes a job hauling the dead bodies of those that did not survive the Titanic. One of the bodies was that of a young woman who had a purse with a locket inside fell out of her body. Angus meant to hand it over to his reporting officer, but other orders were issued to him of vital importantance, thus forgetting about that piece of information on the identity of that young woman. Forward a hundred years in present day, Kevin Messenger is a mischievous twelve year old boy. His father came upon some luck by inheriting an old mansion by the lake. It was deeded to Kevin's grandfather many years ago by Angus Seaton. What is the connection between Angus Seaton and the Messengers? What mystery do they uncover?

My granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed this book! She loves mysteries and "spooky" type stories best. It's been a hard road to get her to read, but now with Amazons help, she is learning to love it as much as I do! This book is just one more along the way that has helped her to come to success in reading! I would recommend this book as a good easy teen reader with just enough mystery and just enough BOO! to keep your pre-teen involved!
