Patrick O'Brian is a 1995 graduate of Ball State University, majoring in English Literature and minoring in Journalism. He enjoys theme parks, dabbles in photography, and buys and sells on online auctions. He lives in Muncie, Indiana, where he works full-time as a firefighter.

Patrick works as a full-time firefighter in Northeastern Indiana, writing and researching in his spare time. He writes primarily suspense thrillers and detective mysteries, though he has done a few arson mysteries.
He enjoys travel and visiting theme parks during the summer. He also does photography and dabbles in online auctions. At least once a year he travels to his home state of New York.
