Trash Pop,

This review is from: Ghosts (MP3 Download)
...is how The Gay Blades describe themselves. I'm not sure exactly what "trash pop" is, but I know this album is chock-full of great, sing-along tunes from cover to cover.I bought it on a whim after randomly hearing "O Shot" on the radio, and youtube-ing the music video. They seemed fun, energetic, and different from your average rock/pop band. The album itself starts off with this single, and moves into some very different-sounding songs. I was a bit turned-off at first, expecting the songs to sound a lot like this single, but found myself coming back again and again to the point where I listen to and sing-along with every song on the album. I highly recommend this album to anyone who enjoys music filled with soul. Even though they're only a guitar and drums, they fill the void with an energy and soul unparalleled in most modern groups. So stop reading and buy the album already!

One of the best albums of the year,
By
This review is from: Ghosts (Audio CD)
The Gay Blades have an original sound in a way that I haven't heard in a long time. Each track crackles with energy, enthusiasm, and tongue-in-cheek wit. I expected to hate them, but this is easily one of the year's best albums.
