Book Description

Kendril is a Ghostwalker, a man who is dead to his former life and bound by a solemn vow to seek penance for some mysterious dark sin in his past. When a chance encounter in the forest leads him to inadvertently rescue a woman named Jade, a woman who claims not to remember anything about who she is or what has happened to her, Kendril becomes her reluctant guardian.

But after a gang of ruthless bounty hunters comes after Jade, Kendril finds himself thrown into a deadly game of cat and mouse where one wrong step will be his last. Now he must use every ounce of daring and cunning he has to escape with his life and to protect the woman he is growing to love, a woman with no past.

But can he trust Jade, or will her secrets lead to his undoing?

Ghostwalker is an action-packed novel of suspense set in the fantasy world of Zanthora. Filled with dark humor and a cast of diverse characters, it is the first book in the Chronicles of Zanthora, the relation of the Fourth War of Despair.

Cover designed by Robert Worl.

About the Author

Ben Cassidy lives in Vancouver, WA, with his wife and three children. He pursued graduate studies in history for several years until he decided that reading six scholarly books a week was not challenging enough for him, and so switched to being a stay-at-home dad. He has been writing since he was in third grade, though now he is able to bribe other people to do the illustrating for him. He has the uncanny habit of writing of himself in the third person, and is disturbed by how easily his whole life can be summed up in four sentences. Or even five.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Weekend book May 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Great book for a weekend read. Lots of action in this fantasy world full of bandits, swordfighting, bounty hunters, and a mysterious woman. The book was a page turner and I can't wait to read the next installment. I don't normally read fantasy novels, but I enjoyed this book SO much. I love the main character and can't wait to learn more about him as the series continues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant delving into a new fantasy world February 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Ghostwalker was an unexpectedly quick attention grabber that put easily identifiable characters center stage into a Bar-room brawl whirlwind of a chase between the heroes and antagonists. The mystery surround the Ghostwalker and the mysteriously enamoring "Jade" had me dying to find out how it would end. Well written, a refreshingly new twist on the fantasy genre that is peppered with realistic details while still staying soundly anchored in the medieval times.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Very Good Story. June 13, 2012

[...]I really enjoyed reading this book. The story line was unique and interesting. There were a lot of grammatical errors in the book; however, the errors did not detract too much from the read. Overall, a book that I would recommend to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adventurous Journey February 8, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This is not the type of book I would usually read. However I found I couldn't put it down wondering what was going to happen next or how could Kendril get them out of another encounter with the bounty hunter and his cohorts. You could feel the comradery develop between this unlikely group begin to form. Maklavir is my favorite and I can't wait to read more about Joseph in the next volume. Great Read!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite good reading. June 30, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The Ghostwalker character is mysterious and dark yet appears to be a good man. It will be interesting to learn more about him in future books. The story itself is well defined and takes you into the world Ben Cassidy has created readily and with a desire to read more. As a fantasy novel series this is a very good Book One. I highly recommend the author and his writings.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am surprised that... June 29, 2014

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I liked this book, because it is so far in the past that this doesn't normally appeal to me. At first I thought this book had something to do with ghosts, something suspenseful but scary at the same time. After reading the first chapter, I had made up mind that I would put this book aside and buy something else. I love the characters, the more I read I realized I couldn't put this book down and read it in one sitting. I especially like the relationship between Simon and the Ghostwalker, it brought a smile to my face. I will buy Book Two.

Please don't stop writing I for one am a fan, you have converted me.

Thanks.
