This review is from: Ghouls 'N Ghosts (Video Game)
Ahhhh the good old days.
I remember when this game came out I was 15 years old and saw this game at the local Toys R Us. I bought it, I loved it. I along with my siblings played this game to no end. Countless hours and a great deal of frustration later the game was finally beaten. Imagine our shock and utter disgust at beating who we thought was the final boss only to be told that we have to play the entire game AGAIN in order to reach the final boss. Maddening!!! But, reach him we did and beat him. So after all these years does the game stand up? Yes. For a 2d side scroller the graphics for the Genesis version were incredible. The game play was tough but fun enough to keep us coming back for more. The weapons selection was huge and some of them were great while some of them truly stunk. Pure gaming magic. Very few games can achieve greatness but G `N G does just that. Now, twenty years later........ I still pull out the Genesis and brush this one off. I still find myself getting my butt kicked on a few of the levels but that's part of what made this game so good in the first place. Very few games can keep me coming back for twenty years but Ghouls does. Timeless. Classic. A must have, must play.
