I totally agree with E. Taylor. These G.I. Joe accessories are mainly for props especially these types of Joe's. If you're looking for something your kids can play with there are the less expensive non-boxed GI Joe's and other brands you can purchase without the delicate props. That said though, you can still play with it. Sure the parachute doesn't come with instructions but a little common sense and you should be able to figure out how the harness slips on and the parachute attaches. Better yet go over to your nearest Toys R US. They usually have a few hanging from the ceiling that you can take a look at. Just realize you may have to use two small safety pins on each side to keep the parachute on since those buttons may pop loose from the force of the chute popping open. I picked up 3 of these GI Joes in different ethnicities to hang, one in my Son's room and two in my office :) They're very cool and for the price with free shipping and no tax, probably one of the best deals out there.

response to poor review: GI Joe accessories are props, April 1, 2005

As a mom of four boys (one who actually is a Marine), I know that the items that come with the GI Joe's are really "props"--none of them are intended for the type of play these parents had in mind. Many people who buy these action figures view them as collectibles. My youngest son does collect GI Joe's--the Marines, especially. You need to do a little more research before you buy a toy for your kids, otherwise you will end up disappointed. There are better choices out there if you want your children to have "interactive" fun with their action figures.

GI JOE's ROCK --- according to my 6 year old, September 4, 2005

My now 6 year old son has gotten into GI Joe's since his uncles re-deployment to Iraq. He loves how all of the pieces work on all of the Joe's and that they are super durable and can stand on their own. I think they are great, since they keep my son and his friends occupied for hours. They go on "rescues" to save my daughters Barbies and to battle dinosaurs. They are one of his favorite toys, next to Hot Wheels and Rescue Heroes.
