Customer Reviews

Wax is great and works well; however, it is very sticky and does its job well.
I have been using the Gigi Hemp Wax for months, and I thought I loved it, until I tried the Gigi all purpose honee wax!
Tried it all!
This left a sticky residue on the skin and The can fell and the wax has never come out!

I have been using this product for a little over two years. I'm half italian and half polish. It does a great job removing the hair with very little effort. A few items a must have.

Baby oil $1 at the dollar store- towel (we all have extra ones we don't use laying around) - old wash cloth (doesn't matter if it was used for dishes as long as it is washed and you don't plan on using it for dishes again)

I wax either on the towel, (after so many drops of wax I just throw the towel away and use a new one).
When I do it on the floor, I coat the floor with baby oil. (Does not stick if you miss your intended area.
Old wash cloth - after waxing I coat my legs (or intended parts) with baby oil, rub it in and take the old wash cloth to soak up any excess oil on my legs while it removes any extra wax.

I will recommend going to a salon to have it done first. I tried it on my own before going to a salon, didn't work, once I saw their techniques I have been doing it at home ever since.

I had to shave every other day. Using this stuff, I can go about two weeks in the summer and 2-3 months in the winter. (My hair grows FAST! My friends when they use it last 4-6 weeks)

The little extra's
If you have delicate skin, try it on a little spot first. Each person's skin is different.
Pull close to the skin. Don't rip the strip up to the sky. Yikes that does hurt.
Baby oil, It's cheap at the dollar store and it will save you a lot of aggravation.
Towels - if you don't have any, if you have newspapers. Works just as good. Or maybe old blankets.
Now for me that cream you can buy to take off the wax does not work for me. But that is just me.
Always remember to put a collar on the container. That saves extra work for when you have an oops.
The next day, put lotion on your legs. It will help bring back the moisture and give it that healthy glow. Lotion of your choice.

This All Purpose Wax came together with my Digital Wax Warmer so though i had bought Azulene Wax after reading the reviews about it, i've decided to give a try this one a try first.

Since i had my hair removed recently ( i use Emjoy epilator for my legs and Microwavable Surgy Wax for brazilian wax) i didn't have any place i needed the hair to be removed. But i was so curious, that i've decided to remove my thin light hair on my arms.

Here is what i did. I put the wax into the warmer and took a shower. When i was out of the shower the wax was ready to be used, but i spend a few minutes to cut the muslin strips out of the roll ( it was really smart of me to buy the whole roll and cut it, since i would need different sizes and the roll come up cheaper). I've applied some baby powder and started the process. I should note that i've never had this done by a professional, so i had a slightest idea how it should be done.

And here are my conclusions:

1. It was not more painful than taking out the band aid.

2. It was much easier than a microwavable wax.

3.It takes very little time to figure out the best way to do it.

And here are my suggestions:

1. If never in your life had you wax done by professionals, i'd say either go there and get it done for the 1st time or just simply but and instructional DVD for professionals and learn how to do it. I've got my on e-bay for very little, it's still on the way, but i was able do get the procedure without it anyway.

2.As for the legs - it's less time consuming to remove hair with electric epilator, but if you used to shave your legs, get them waxed for the 1st time. Since hair regrows thinner it will be less painful to do it with epilator.

3. Get Wax Off!

Okay, I will admit I'm bashful, I did NOT like the idea of going into a salon and... well, you know how it works. I was about to go to the beach and hate shaving every day, I always get razor burn very badly no matter how careful I am. So I got a Sally Beauty coupon and went and bought one of their wax warmers which came with a free tin of the All Purpose Honee. Also purchased sticks and muslin strips but that's not part of this review.

Now, keep in mind I have never been to a pro salon. I also did not watch any Youtube videos. I simply read some of the advice on here and used some common sense. Though it was a little rough to start out I think it turned out pretty darn good and I didn't have to shave the whole week at the beach - first time since puberty! (yes, it is THAT exciting.) Not a single ingrown hair nor burn nor irritated skin. Keep in mind this is from a girl who tried using Nair and was bleeding from her pores within 2 minutes, so my skin is pretty sensitive, and I find it incredibly impressive that I had absolutely no issues. In fact I just waxed my legs for my second time and I must be doing something right because in most places it was fairly painless - no more than a light slap, nothing to even flinch at - and yes I checked each strip that I had pulled hair out by the root. No, I do not have a high pain tolerance either, in fact I tear up if I even stub my toe or get a shot.

Here's a list of my regimen and tips. Take or leave what you want:
- Shower the night before or morning before as per usual, and use a loofah to scrub and exfoliate very well.
- Day of, warm the wax to a honey consistency. My warmer only had "off" and "on" so it got the wax too hot to a syrup consistency, which did burn, so I had to keep turning the warmer on and off.
