This review is from: Giacinto Scelsi: Action Music No. 1; Suite No. 8 (Audio CD)
Another fine example of works from this master composer. These highly complex compositions all comes with that typical primitive, raw, dry, stoney overtonal and atonal structures sometimes with overarching tonal sequences with their charactheristic somewhat icey atmosphere that marks most of Scelsi's works. These are all here very well represented and produced.
I find Scelsi to be one of the most original and essential modern composers of last century together with Feldman and Stockhausen. Scelsi, who studied under Klein from the Schoenberg school, wherewith he adopted the dodecaphony of Berg, should make a lasting impact on the modern classical music listener.
