5.0 out of 5 stars Key position in music tradition, July 12, 2007
This review is from: Giacomo Carissimi: Historia di Jepthe; Damnatorum Lamentatio, etc. (Audio CD)
Jepthe is one of the most important oratorios of Carissimi, it would open a tradition from 1600 to 1750 Handel, near above 150 years. On the theatrical expression, Jepthe is a key influence model to the latter. If you never touched Carissimi, or you loved Handel, suggest to try this one.
