This unique compendium of ready wit and rapid-fire repartee can be read just for the sheer fiendish fun of it. Or it can be put to work as a handy reference/sourcebook for speakers, writers, entertainers, managers or literally anyone who wishes to communicate more forcefully or become the life of the party.
Carefully categorized according to "targets," The Giant Book of Insults can be referred to time and time again to deflate egotists, dispose of bores and demolish dummies. Far more than merely a book of humor, it represents an almost unlimited wealth of shrewdly perceptive characterizations of the foibles and frailties of human nature.

Avoid this book unless you crave corny and woefully outdated 'insults' and 'jokes' (which were anything but funny). Have not read other books of this genre, so I cannot make a recommendation of another title. My only recommendation is NOT to buy this book.

I got one of the original 2000 insults book in the 60s through my school as a scholastic book. We all thought the insults were funny. Yep, it's dated. Folks did you really expect an old cheap joke book to be some sort of transformational masterpiece? Why don't you see it for what it is: a glimpse of the anthropology of '50s & '60 satire? Personally I still use a few that I remember from back then, my favorite that still goes down brilliantly is: "I bet mind readers charge you half-price".
