Wonderful Perspective on Storied Franchise,
By Christopher Johnson (Columbus, OH USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Giants: In Their Own Words (Paperback)
This book served as a wonderful introduction to this great football franchise and some of the men who got it done on the field. Each chapter is a self-contained autobiography of a great man who wore the Giants jersey. The men like Sam Huff, Frank Gifford, Tom Landry, Dan Reeves, Pat Summerall, Rosie Greer, Andy Robustelli and others who helped the Giants to dominate the NFL in much of the late 50's are both legends of the game and leaders of men. I was unfamilar with much of the older Giants history. This book made me very proud to be a Giants fan. I gained a tremendous appreciation for the contribution the Mara family has made to the NFL in bringing football into the modern era. Thank you to both Tim and Wellington Mara. |
