5.0 out of 5 stars Simple & cheap, but only one page wide
I bought a few of these stands because I wanted something cheap and simple that my wife could set on the ottoman while she played the guitar. These work wonderfully for that purpose. They come as a flat sheet of cardboard(which means they come in a rather large box). I'm not sure how many times they can be re-flattened and put back together, but they stack rather...

3.0 out of 5 stars Giardinelli Cardboard Music Stand
I purchased these for use in my home-I often have musicians come over to play. I also purchased them to use at work. They are used for holding the scores for my orff bells. They work o.k. I would like them to be larger with more durable cardboard so you could could place a heavier song book on it (we play hymns at home) or two pages of scores. It will hold 2 pages of...

They come as a flat sheet of cardboard(which means they come in a rather large box). I'm not sure how many times they can be re-flattened and put back together, but they stack rather nicely when folded into stands. They only hold one sheet of music at a time, so get two or three.

I would like them to be larger with more durable cardboard so you could could place a heavier song book on it (we play hymns at home) or two pages of scores. It will hold 2 pages of 8/12 by 11 score pages-but they need to be mounted on a stiff cardboard backing. The portability and ability to fold and tuck away is handy....just need to be a tad larger. Of course one could use them as a rough template...

At $1.00 a piece, I'd recommend you buy as much as you can.

The size is roughly similar to two of your hands put together, but to be sure you'd better measure that with someone more vertically gifted (read: tall).

The package came in a huge box, for just 2 flat pieces of cardboard (I ordered 2).
I will say it was difficult to fold the boards to match the description. I wish there was some kind of instruction, although there are visible crease points to follow - it justs seems like the finishing part may be off from what it should be.

At $1.00 a piece though, I don't mind spending more to practice the folding.

After that, I'll say these things are quite sturdy, I do agree with another reviewer that if you're looking to places more than 1 page, you might want to buy another stand. With free shipping, you've got only $1.00 (per piece) to lose.

Also, last but not least, delivery came in around 5-6 days. Not bad at all.

It was definitely what I was looking for at least, hopefully you'll consider your reasons before purchasing as well.

2.0 out of 5 stars The Reason I Didn't Buy This Stand, March 11, 2006

If you're not into style and good looks, than this music stand is for you! It's plain white colored cardboard stand (makes it easy to damage) with a musical note cut out in the middle. If you have a table to put it on while playing your instrument you're good to go. it's portable and not to mention recyclable!

I didn't think it was that high of quality (which is why it's $1.00) and I need something to stand with and I'm not going to hold the stand up while playing. Sure it's portable but if you want to take it somewhere like in the park with you it could easily blow away. It's possible to spill water on it and damage it if it's cardboard and it might also be bent, torn, or broken easily depending on the thickness or thinness of the cardboard and the description doesn't tell how think the carboard is.
