Perfect Dinnerware Set,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This was a gift for my mother in law and she loves it. I have the same set as well and I'm very pleased with it's look and size. They are NOT chip resistant over time. FYI.

These dished look great and feel sturdy. In less than a week we were ready to throw them away. They don't fit easily into a standard dishwasher. They are unimaginable slippery when soapy (as dishes tend to be sometimes). Seriously, you can't even imagine how slippery they are. We told our teenagers that they are NOT allowed to wash these dishes. And, just setting a plate into a sink with water in it, the plate slid sideways under the water, tapped the side of the sink and chipped. This occurred several times to different pieces. On one occasion, when my wife picked the plate back up it sliced her thumb and she had to get stitches. We have 8 sets of china that are handwashed after every use and not one piece has a chip in it. After 6 months with these as our "every day" dishes we have lost 1 piece to children being careless, one piece was completely broken when I tossed a piece of ice into the sink on top of it and another 6 are chipped just from my wife and I washing them. I wouldn't take this set again if it were offered to me for free.

Attractive but not built for longevity,

I have had these plates for many years. And am currently purchasing another to replace the desert plates that have broken in half over time. These plates are very large and look great, but do not last. I have found the desert plates to be the most fragile, as this will be my 4th set and i have 10 bowls, 12 dinner plates, 12 mugs and only 4 desert plates left in my cupboard. I dont have children, and I do put them in the dishwasher periodoically. Point is not a ton of hard use. Love the look though, which is why I am buying another set. Seems a shame to throw out so many good pieces just because I am out of desert plates(used everyday). Although I may have to take that step soon because I have no need for 30 dinner plates and mugs ;)
