This is my third epiphone,perhaps one of the top guitar makers in the world. I bought a esteban acoustic for the same price,it looks and sounds nice but the fret board was painted black over a pressed wood material,and the black paint comes off. I will always stick with the name brand guitars,also the ones made here in the usa. Although companies like epiphone are made overseas, they are still very good. Epiphone guitars are top shelf. Gibson is the parent company,and you cannot go wrong. I bought the esteban guitar out of curiosity, now i know stick with the legendary companies.

For an $80 guitar the wood, fit and finish is quite nice. Plays well.
The tuners are a little sloppy but they work.
The intonation isn't adjustable but is surprisingly 99% accurate.

The quality and sound of this guitar far surpassed my expectations. The pricing is excellent. Fast delivery. Very pleased. I bought this for my son, who is a misic student, so he had an acoustic to jam with. It rocks.

I ordered this guitar for my goddaughter for Christmas - she was the same age I was when I asked for my first guitar, so I HAD to be the one to get it for her. I'm familiar with the Epiphone brand, though I've never owned one myself, but all the ones I've heard over the years had beautiful tone. Well, this one didn't disappoint me. The tone, when I tuned it, was wonderful - so clear, just a great tone. And the guitar itself is beautiful. The front is a very pretty natural stain and the back is a rich, dark brown. I can't believe what a great guitar I got for so little money! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants an acoustic guitar, beginner or not. I have to admit, I was tempted to keep this and buy the kid a different one but I did end up giving it to her. And her reaction was priceless - she actually cried she was so happy. So if you're thinking about buying this, all I can say is DO IT!

I ordered this on Dec. 20 2009, and received an email from the company saying it was backordered, even though it says "In Stock" on Amazon's website!
