Horrible,

I ordered 2 sets of these plates. Half of the plates are marked microwavable and diswasher safe. The other half say do not microwave not diswasher safe. So each time I want to use the microwave, I have to read the plate. The handles of the cups tend to "fall off" when in use. Very poor make.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I bought three sets of this dishware since I have lots of people at my house most of the time. My last dishes had lasted so long I was bored with them. These are just fun to own and use.
However, they crack so easily. Within a couple of weeks one just fell apart in a guests hands as they were dishing their food onto the plate. Several have done the same or similar things. They were not dropped or abused, just fell apart. Very disappointing.

Microwave safe???,
This review is from: Gibson Fandango 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Gold/Various (Kitchen)
My 12 place settings say "Dishawasher Safe and Microwave Safe" on the bottom. But several of these dishes have become extremely hot when zapped - while the food only got lukewarm. This is typical of dishes that are NOT microwave safe. Why this problem applies to only some of these dishes is a mystery - probably just another example of fine Chinese craftsmanship. Just use caution when nuking these dishes!

Love the Unbroken Dishes but Not the Pieces Of the Others.,

These dishes are really festive and colorful. I ordered 3 sets (12 place settings). They were shipped in three boxes. The first two boxes were fine. The shipping box of the third set was fine but the dish box itself rattled when I took it out. Sure enough, almost all of that set was broken. It seemed obvious to me that the box had been dropped before being placed into the shipping box. I tried contacting Amazon and that was a complete exercise in frustration. An hour and a half later (yes, 1-1/2 hrs!) I finally got someone who contacted the vendor and was told another set would be sent to me. I will give kudos to the vendor because they did indeed ship out another set which arrived today. Each dish whole? Guess again. This time two of the salad plates were in pieces as were 2 cups and all 4 bowls. Again it appears the same thing happened to this box as the other. I am beyond furious at this point. Now instead of having 12 of everything I have 10 of some and 14 of others.
I gave a 5 star rating because the dishes themselves are actually quite nice. It's whoever is packing the shipping boxes who has the problem. If you want these dishes I would suggest you order two additional sets so you may get some that arrive in one piece. |
