Hmm...no reviews on this one yet? OK, here's my 2 cents:

Pros:

*Looks bad-ass. Of course you either love the shape or you don't. To me, this screams 80's heavy metal ala Scorpions, Metallica, etc. so I love it but surprisingly, it doesn't looks out of place when Albert King plays the blues on it either. Having a guitar you love looking at/holding will definitely motivate you to pick it up more often. Extra plus...the shape allows it to be its own stand :)

*Comfortable to play. It's deceptively light so it's not going to kill your back like a Les Paul would after standing and playing for an hour. Also, contrary to popular belief, this guitar is extremely comfortable to play sitting ala classical style if you have the top 'wing' resting on top of your right leg. Its takes a bit of getting used to at first but I cannot play any other way even with my other guitars now. That being said, this is not a guitar to play while slouching on the couch.

*Hard-shell case: even if you don't tour or even leave the house with your guitar, you are going to want a nice case to protect your investment. The Gibson case that comes with it is lockable, sturdy on the outside, and plush on the inside.

*Neck. Face it, the neck is basically the most important part of a guitar. This one is 24.75" scale length, 22 frets, ebony fingerboard (it's rosewood on all other finishes), classic (acrylic?) white dot inlays. The neck profile is kind of fat and round at the headstock and gets flatter towards the body. I had had to have the action adjusted slightly to get rid of some fret buzz, but after that it plays like a dream.

*Stays in tune: nothing is more frustrating than a guitar that goes out of tune every other song. The standard Gibson deluxe tuners keep in tune no matter how much you bend and beat on the strings.

Cons:

*No P/U rings/covers. The neck and bridge PUPs sits rather high and with no ring or cover to protect them, the tape around the wiring tends to get tore up from fingers and picks.

*Neck finish: the painted finish tends to get a little sticky after playing awhile. While taking a cloth to it works for a temp fix, I might take an emery cloth to mine to try an alleviate that a bit.

Final thoughts: All in all, a very solid, fun-to-play guitar that looks and sounds killer.
