While I don't question the quality of this dinnerware, I was disappointed with the size of it. Unfortunately, this seems to be the trend among many designers these days. Everything is enormous. The plate is more like a giant bowl and the mug would work for basketball players. The design, while pretty, can barely be seen.

I was so excited to get these, I almost hugged the UPS driver when he delivered them. I had been searching far and wide for dishes that had a rustic/artisan look. I love pottery, but was working with a budget that wouldn't allow for me to splurge on everyday dinnerware. I loved the colors and pattern of the Terena Bloom set and was thrilled that I had found the perfect set for my taste and budget. When I unpacked them, I was so very disappointed. The dishes did not look nearly as pretty as the picture on this site. The accent colors were VERY subdued, to the point where you couldn't even see the blue design on the plates. The other thing the picture doesn't show you is that the accent design is made in a very splotchy looking glaze. Between the nonexistent accent colors and the splotchy/bubbly looking design- the overall impression is that you ended up with some sort of factory second or flawed item. To be honest, I thought I must have gotten a lemon of a batch, so I opened up my second set, hoping they would look like what the pictures show - but no... they were the same. You couldn't see any of the "petal" type design on the big plates, and the swirl design on the salad plate was nonexistent. So disappointing - I returned both sets. I am not generally a "returner", (or a reviewer for that matter) but wanted to share this with others so that they may be warned about the difference between the actual product and the photo.
As an aside, the plates truly are behemoth and the bowls would almost be large enough to use as a serving piece. I loved the shape and size, but it may not be for everyone.

I love these dishes. They are just what I wanted. Huge bowls and plates and the plates have a deep curving bottom, so they are like huge bowls too. No messy spilling here. YEAH !!
