I read this book when I was in junior high..I have been looking to read it again since I understand a little more about WWII and what happened to the jews. I really enjoyed this book when I was young.

Personally, I was not impressed by the book. Gideon, the maincharacter, was not very believable. I have a hard time believing thata normal fourteen year old boy would know how to smuggle guns and food into another city.However, the book wasn't all bad. It did have a lot of action during the middle and end. It also describes what life was like in a Jewish ghetto. I would...

I think this was an ok book. I think there could have been more detail. But over sll this is a good book to young readers who are easily intrested in the Holocaust.
