Tara Singh delivers an easy to read introduction to the first ten lessons of 'A Course In Miracles' including interesting exercises that add depth to the lessons. I enjoyed reading this book very much and read it all in one sitting.

A COMMENTARY ON "A COURSE IN MIRACLES",
By
This review is from: A Course in Miracles: A Gift for All Mankind (Paperback)
Tara Singh is also the author of How to Learn from A Course in Miracles, Commentaries on a Course in miracles, How to Raise a Child of God: It Is Trust That Frees the Mind--Not Education, "Nothing Real Can Be Threatened": Exploring a Course in Miracles, Love Holds No Greviences: The Ending of Attack (Miracle Studies), The Four Quarters of the Night: The Life-Journey of an Emigrant Sikh (Mcgill-Queen's Studies in Ethnic History), etc.He wrote in the Introduction to this 1986 book, "Why was A Course in Miracles given when there are already so many religions and scriptures in the world? And all scriptures are holy regardless of which religions they are part of... Why then another book? Why did 'A Course in Miracles' come today? Why in our generation? Why in English? Why was man deprived of it for twenty centuries, fifty centuries? What answers would you give to these questions?" Here are some additional quotations from the book: "Almost all scriptures are written by those who were inspired by the Incarnations of God. But 'A Course in Miracles' is the direct thoughts of God. It is not a religion. Its purpose is to help the indivdiual find inner peace." (Pg. 10) "'A Course in Miracles' is anonymous. Someone gave us the Course. That someone rose to the state of the Course---surpassed the nameless names, became One, and therefore never wrote their name on it, never said, 'It's me.'" (Pg. 33) "Do you have that reverence for the Course? Would you like it to bring you to a miracle with each lesson, that ends the past and brings you to peace and to timelessness, to the truth of your being? A different approach, isn't it?" (Pg. 79) "Ninety percent of the shops are sustained by the loneliness of people. You already have too many clothes, too many shoes, too many everything." (Pg. 107) "Don't think you are a wicked sinner or a lowly worm. That's just extending your opinions of yourself." (Pg. 115) "The author of the Course is intimated to be Christ---Jesus Christ." (Pg. 118) "Organized religions, for the most part, merely strengthen prejudice and educational systems limit man to the relative." (Pg. 128) "Professors and clergy the world over are interpreters of knowledge, not men of direct knowing." (Pg. 141)

A Gift For All Course Students,
By Ash (abroad) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Gift for All Mankind: Learning the First Ten Lessons of a Course in Miracles (Paperback)
From the book:"No one who has realized the truth of that you are already perfect is going to sell perfection or what you have to do to get there...On the other hand, the one who sells belief systems knows nothing of the fact that the human being is perfect." What more can one say after that?

This book is almost an essential companion when beginning your journey with ACIM. ACIM itself is a challenge on many levels, and to actually get the most out of the course, one can really use the assistance offered by Tara Singh. His writing style is very easy, his writings profound, and he is able to bring the lessons of ACIM home in a very easily understood way. Strongly recommend for the new student to help avoid initial frustration and confusion with ACIM.
