4.0 out of 5 stars Bliss!, November 20, 2002
This review is from: Gift of Christmas (Audio CD)
I had heard En Vogue had gone through a line-up change and wasn'y sure if I should buy this album, two of my favourite members had left the group so I was expecting the new En Vogue sound to be very different, and honestly not as good as it was. I was pleasently surprised, infact I was very very impressed.

The sound is different although not that much and its due mainly to Maxine's departure, but the remaining ladies have done an excellent job of finding a new member, her vocals are, well, Rich and Very Very Satisfying.

You get the same feeling after listening to this album as you do when you have a great meal, it's not over-done it's not under-done it's just right!

I will definately be listening to this album in years to come, and I recommend it to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars En Vogue' s Gift Of Christmas Is Totally Fabulous!!!, November 8, 2002

This review is from: Gift of Christmas (Audio CD)
En Vogue is definitely back with one of the best Christmas Gifts ever. I was the first person in town to get the new CD and I must say that the beautiful girls of En Vogue have done it again! My heart is totally warmed by the sounds of Terry, Cindy and Amanda singing Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. The vocal harmony and super-sleek style of En Vogue just makes those songs jump out of my stereo. Christmas classics like Oh Holy Night and Jingle Bells have been taken to a whole new level that only the girls could do.
Merry Christmas Baby is unbeleiveable and the band backs up En Vogue is a way that just makes the idea of the Christmas holidays that much better. Then there is some great new songs sung by En Vogue that capture the feeling of being with your family during the holidays and hanging out by a warm fire. The grooves, harmonies and songs are just what the doctor ordered for those long wintery nights.
I give this album 5 thumbs up and hope everyone goes out and gives themselves...The Gift Of Christmas.
Best thing I've done for myself this year....go girls!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Gift of En Vogue, November 18, 2002

I just have to say that I have been a long term fan of En Vogue since the beginning, and I have been heart sick with their absence. The Gift of Christmas, has reinforced what I've always known, and that is that they embody everything that others have tried to duplicate. The stunning vocals, and harmonies between Cindy,Terry, and new member, Amanda, is classic En Vogue. The version of Have yourself a Merry little Christmas, is both creative and soulful. My personal favorite is the dreaming and beautiful Snowy Nights. This is truly a classic in the making. From the cd cover to the inserts inside, its obvious that they are still the most beautiful women around. This is a must have and a great gift to pass on to our family and friends.
