1.0 out of 5 stars 'Excalibur' by John Boorman this is not!, October 11, 2002
By
This review is from: Gift of Excalibur 2: Myths & Mysteries of World (Audio CD)
The song's in John Boorman's 'Excalibur' were written by Carl Orff (German composer)'Carmina Burana- O Fortuna' and Richard Wagner(German composer)Act III,Scene 2:'Siegfried's Funeral March'(Twilight of the Gods-The Ring Cycle). I heard somebody purchased this album expecting to hear these songs and did not get what they wanted,so I'm setting the record straight. If you want the 2 songs from the (1981) motion picture 'Excalibur' by John Boorman, these two German composer's 'Carl Orff' and 'Richard Wagner'wrote the two popular songs:(1)Carmina Burana-O Fortuna (by Orff),(2)Siegfried's Funeral March (by Wagner). You can purchase these two albums sole separatly at bargain basement prices of $5 dollars each an album. Amazon.com lets you hear portions of 'O Fortuna'(by Carl Orff)and then you decide on where you want to spend your money? I'm sure the album pictured above is great, but has no association with the motion picture. I just wanted to save you from some disappointment and heartbreak.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not a movie soundtrack, but an excellent New Age CD, July 27, 2003

This review is from: Gift of Excalibur 2: Myths & Mysteries of World (Audio CD)
Medwyn Goodall has released over 70 CDs which express his love of nature and many ancient cultures and legends. This CD is a soft, laid-back collection of songs which is one of many Goodall has done based on the Arthurian legends. All of the music on this CD was composed, arranged, produced, performed, recorded and mixed by Mr. Goodall. He uses harps, guitars, mandolins, woodwinds, horns, strings, panpipes, flutes, percussion, and synths along with sounds of nature to produce nine tracks of relaxing music that really capture the mystery of the King Arthur legend. He has done many other CDs that are more upbeat than this, but if you are looking for an hour of peaceful reminders of the magic of medieval England and Camelot, try this CD.
