Jammin' CD,

I heard the popular single 'Butterfly' on the radio numerous times and I wondered who the heck this group "Crazy Town" was. All that I did know at that time was that I really was into that song and I wanted to hear more songs of the "Gift of Game" album.I download a few off of Napster, namely "Only When I'm Drunk" and "Hollywood Babylon". Let me just say that this CD rocks. I quickly went and bought the CD the same night I heard these songs and I wasn't disappointed. There is such a wide variety of influence in their music from old-school House of Pain and Beastie Boys to the new flavor of Limp Bizkit. If you are into deep beats with hard chords, Crazy Town is the place to be!

Usually I don't give CDs a 4-star rating, much less a 5-star unless they're really good. "The Gift of Game" is a really good CD. From the Limp Bizkit-like "Toxic" to the soothing beats of "Butterfly", this CD covers alot of genres. The best song on this CD is probably "Lollipop Porn" - it has a rockin' beat, well-placed guitars, good scratching in the background, and nice vocals. Go out and buy this CD, no matter what kind of music you like. It'll be worth the money.

i really enjoy this cd and its a showcase of how to actually put thought into rap lyrics not that it isnt immature at times but shifty and epic have refined flows and they know what theyre doing which is why KRS-1 took enough interest in them to actually make an appearance on the last track.there is also a revamped cover song of the an old RHCP song butterfly which turned out better than the original in my opinion and jay gordon from orgy sings in the chorus on black cloud which is a really phat song.so if you like rap-pimpcore then check this out, standout tracks are 2 4 5 6 9 11 13-later

Bad timing for Crazy Town to release their debut album 7 days after RATM released The Battle Of Los Angeles, and 7 days before KoRn released Issues, but hopefully more people will discover them. I discovered them by getting a flyer stuck on my car after a Limp Bizkit concert. Needed new music anyway, bought the CD, frickin' loved it. =)

This has to be simply the best I have heard in a while. I can't understand why this band is getting bad reviews? It has to be Jealousy. I have listened to this cd over and over again and I can never get tired of it. I can't wait for Crazy Town to produce a 3rd cd,their 2nd cd Darkhorse is great also. This is the first band that I enjoyed every song on both their cd's. Perfect would be my review. If you can't appreciate their music you have no taste at all for good quality music. I love Crazy Town, I have lived these songs out. I can't describe it but it seems like every song is about me. Unbelievable!!!! I want to see these guys live WOW.

Just forget anything and everything you know about rapcore,

Crazy Town is definetly the band of the future. They combine rap and metal in a way that is unlike anyone else. This is no Kid Rock or Limp Bizkit or any of that. What this is is a totally new level of rapcore. They combine the rhyming skills of rap godfathers Dr. Dre and Ice Cube with the thick guitar chords of Korn or Incubus. And yet they still cease to sound like any one of those. Songs like "Darkside" "Toxic" "Think Fast" and "Hollywood Babylon" are smooth, fast and furious rap metal. The best song on here, "Black Cloud" features Jay Gordon of Orgy, and is a dark, soothing, melodic song. "Butterfly" is their version of a love song, and "B Boy 2000" pits KRS-One against Epic and Shifty in one of the best collaborations ever. If you just pass this off as a bunch of wiggers with guitars, then you are mistaken my friend. Look for this band to blow up and make it big someday soon.

The Game They Play Is Good,
This review is from: Gift of Game (Audio CD)
This CD is amazing. It's that simple. I was a little sceptical on buying The Gift Of Game having only heard the massive single Butterfly but am i glad i bought this. Some people may say it's a bit like Limp Bizkit in the rap/rock sort of category but what Crazy Town do is far better. There are some all out rock tracks like Tonic to near enough all rapping on B-Boy 2000 which features the talents of KRSOne and between these tracks the volume stays pumped up to the max and the songs are great. Butterfly, Darkside and Only When I'm Drunk are my favourite tracks but you can't fault any of them. If you have the slightest liking to Butterfly or bands like Limp Bizkit then this album is definately for you. It's crazy!

Crazy!!!!!!!!!!,

First off I didn't like Crazy Town mainly because of there looks. There looks really turned me away from the cd at first when I saw the Butterfly video on MTV. After I heard the cd in one of my friends cars all I could say was DAMN. So I bought the cd and learned how to ignore their looks and just enjoy the cd. Crazy Town really reminds me of two groups, which are the old school Beasties Boys (how Shifty and Epic alternate versus), and Linkin Park on how they sing and the use of all of the instruments, sound effects, etc. If you like the old school Beastie Boys and Linkin Park I would buy this cd. If their looks are keeping you from buying the cd, ignore them because I am trying to and the cd is crazy.
