5.0 out of 5 stars True gifts
Finally, someone who understands that gifts are not about how much you spend or how much you can impress your friends. 2.0 out of 5 stars Smells Like Cigarette Smoke and Arrived Soiled!
The book packaging arrived smelling like cigarette smoke. It smelled so bad I had to leave it in the garage. The book cover was soiled; looked like a dried liquid stain. Disappointing as this book was listed as "New" and I paid accordingly. I had to work at ridding the book and cover of the noxious cigarette smell.

5.0 out of 5 stars True gifts, June 5, 2002
This review is from: A Gift for Giving: Making the Most of the Present (Hardcover)
Finally, someone who understands that gifts are not about how much you spend or how much you can impress your friends. I love the way the book emphasizes simpler, but more loving offerings: homebaked goodies, fresh flowers, gifts of experiences rather than things (a round of golf, tickets to a play or movie, etc.). The book even shows inventive and personal ways that money can be given. Most of all, though, the beautiful photography and the passages about the philosophy of giving make this book a great resource for someone who wants to give meaningful and personal presents.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Gift - As A Gift For Giving, December 21, 2000
This review is from: A Gift for Giving: Making the Most of the Present (Hardcover)
Although I purchased the book for myself, and it was on my coffee table, a friend visiting picked it up and pleaded with me to let her have it. So that was my gift to her.

It's an imaginative book, and a wonderful reference to make any gift stand out from the rest.

I highly recommend it -- it gets your creative juices flowing.

This book is a treasure. The ideas enable you to deliver the messages to the recipients that they are special for you. The memory of the gift giving stays with them for a long time. Try it. I have, and it works.

5.0 out of 5 stars A gift giving book worth giving!, December 10, 2000

A really wonderful book filled with great ideas! I especially like the ideas for giving money - it seems like a cop out - but it's what most people want most. I also like that the gift wrap suggestions don't necessarily cost more than the gift or require a degree in engineering to construct, like some other design books!

5.0 out of 5 stars Surpassed Expectations, August 17, 2005
This review is from: A Gift for Giving: Making the Most of the Present (Hardcover)
I am giving a workshop on creative gift giving. I needed information and ideas on different topics in the presentation. I ordered a number of "gift idea" type books. I did not have any expectations and I was pleasantly surprised with how informative and useful this book was. I would recommend this book to anyone.
