Mose Giganticus is awesome and very heavy. there is a tinge of Melvins in their music, but Melvins never had synthesizers in their line-up. this album, entitled "Gift Horse" is a concept album about Christianity. I am beginning to wonder if Relapse is open to Christianity, as two other bands, Inevitable End and Rwake, explore Christianity on their new albums. this band is killer. song no.4 is mix of synthesizer and guitar with the drums sounding like they are played in the next county.

I just purchased 'Gift Horse' by Mose Giganticus a few days ago, and since then it has been on frequent rotation in my MP3 player. All I can say is wow! Their music is the midtempo, brooding stoner meets doom that has propelled bands like Mastodon and High on Fire to major label deals, but Mose Giganticus does it better. The songs are catchy without being trite, and the keyboards add a new dimension to the music that is almost mesmerizing. 'Gift Horse's' tones are huge and in your face. If you haven't listened to 'Gift Horse' yet, do yourself a favor and give it a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I'm surprised this one got past the folks at Relapse. It seems that the entire album is just a bunch of retread Melvins riffs. As a big Melvins fan, I appreciate the source material. But it begs the question: why bother with this album if you can just listen to the original instead?

Putting aside the unoriginality, this sounds good. The drum programming is nice. Guitars are beefy. The keyboards are a good touch.

I just can't get past how obvious the stolen riffs are. Not just riffs. Vocal phrasing. Everything.

This is an alright album to listen to. It's nothing spectacular, but it's still a good album to listen to. I'd recommend you check this album out. Buy it, listen to it, and enjoy it.
